Driving the jeep was fun, the host/guides were friendly and profesional. It was raining so no wildlife out to see. Overall good experience.
Pleasant drive. Not off-roading but taking a gravel highway that extends across all of the forest. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging but it's a simple drive mainly suitable for the scenery.
It wasn’t a bad experience, but the first thing the guide said when he picked us up is…..” this is a scenic tour and not a wildlife tour and you are unlikely to see wildlife because it is not a zoo”. He was correct we didn’t see wildlife except a bald eagle. That is fine. It was a nice drive but they advertise as if we could expect to see wildlife. There were two guides. One was great and well educated and one not as much. For me, the Tundra tour was great and enough. I wouldn’t do both.
What a great time, new jeeps plenty of stops / overlooking views
Great vehicles, great guides. The tour went over an unpaved highway into the national park. Beautiful photo opportunities, nice people, and the best weather. Unfortunately, we did not see any animals.
For the time and money not a very positive experience Scenery unremarkable and no wildlife to speak of Time would be better spent in Denali National park
Very disappointing experience. The jeeps and tour guide were fine, but you spend three hours simply driving on a highway, with a couple stops. I’m here in Alaska for the nature of course, but simply driving on a highway for three hour was tedious and boring. I’m really surprised by all the positive reviews.
To be completely honest this should not be listed as wildlife tour. This is a scenic tour and very good. Paige and Emma were great guides. They knew a lot of interesting information and shared some things you wouldn’t know on your own. Like the area used to be a Glaicer. We did not see Mt McKinley/denali which honestly is to be expected, since it is only seen about 30% of the time. Water and snacks provided. Binoculars. Road a little bumpy and dusty at times but not for the main parts. If you want a laid back your where you can see nature at its best this is a great tour.
We had a rainy day, but the guides were very knowledgeable about anything they were asked. We were very disappointed about not seeing wildlife, especially when we were told that the tours that went through the park saw multiple sightings of bears, moose, and caribou. Lots of mosquitos at the stops made. If you want to know about trees, flowers, etc., this trip would have been good.
Thank you for your feedback, and we're glad to hear you found our guides knowledgeable. It sounds like your expectations for the tour may unfortunately have been set incorrectly. Our Jeep tour travels the Denali Highway and does not enter Denali National Park. We never promise or advertise multiple sightings of bears, moose, or caribou, as wildlife is wild and sightings can never be guaranteed on any tour. It seems like you reservation was made through a third-party booking provider rather than directly with us, so it's possible some of the information you received about the experience was inaccurate or confused with tours that operate inside Denali National Park. We work hard to accurately describe our tour so guests know what to expect before booking. We're sorry the rainy weather and mosquitoes didn't cooperate during your visit, but we're happy our guides were able to share their knowledge of the incredible landscape, plants, and natural history found along the Denali Highway.
Emma and Dan were wonderful. The jeeps were in great condition. Emma, being the lead, took us to parts of the highway (off the highway) that we would never have seen otherwise. Viator is great too. We booked the EASY raft expedition with a different tour company and after we viewed the actual rafting trip onnthe river I realized i wouldnt be able to do it due to mediacl condition. It was not the "easy" they made it out to be and they wouldnt refund our money even days before. I will only use Viator from now on.
