Description
A diverse range well knows Kartli region of cultural sites, including several historical, cultural, and landscapes. Since the first half of the III millennium BC, the area dates from classical to medieval, including and altered several times. The region was the home of gods and their earthly embodiment – priests, chiefs, and kings. Every layer of the ground keeps a memory of epochs. The region was standing over the crossroads of cultures. The significance of this arterial road was connecting east and west. It’ rocky road still preserves a clear trace of wheeled transport moving here over centuries. The region was, from time to time, ruled by Mithraism or Zoroastrianism. Sovereign priests performed pagan rituals here. On this altar, they offered sacrifice, glorified female divinity, lighted holly fire. To be continued during the tour.

Wonderful sights and history of Georgia
Thank you Nika for a wonderful tour! It was extensive and entertaining. We went to the ancient cave city, which was spectacular. Then we stopped for lunch in Gori where we had a delicious feast of Georgian dishes. Next Nika took us round the Stalin Museum, giving us a detailed history of his life and answering all our questions. We then visited the beautiful cathedral at Mtskheta and the monastery on the mountain above the town which ended our tour with a stunning view and sunset. There was a lot of traffic on the roads which delayed the journeys a bit, but the bus was comfortable and the traffic was out of anyone’s control.
Operator response
What a full day — from ancient Uplistsikhe and a Georgian feast to fascinating history with Nika, finishing with that beautiful sunset above Mtskheta! 🌅❤️ Thank you as well for your understanding about the traffic. We’re delighted the comfortable ride and Nika’s storytelling made the journey worthwhile! 🇬🇪

A good day out
It was a good day. The sites were great and guide was extremely informative. Unfortunately, if sitting in the very back of the van it can be difficult to hear, especially with strong accents & very fast speaking. So although we may have only received a % of what was being said, we still had a nice day out.
Operator response
Thank you for the balanced feedback! ❤️ We’re glad you enjoyed the sites and found the guide very informative. Your point about hearing from the back of the van and the pace of speaking is important, and we’ll share it with our guiding team so explanations can be easier for everyone to follow. 🇬🇪

A really good trip.
It was a very good and affordable trip. The guide Tako was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The driver drove calmly, which is unusual here. The trip itself was well balanced, with nature and culture. Can be recommended warm. It is our third trip with Gamarjoba Georgia tours and we are very satisfied with this organizer. Quality all the way.
Operator response
