Jvari Monastery, built in the 6th century, is one of Georgia’s oldest churches and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched on a hilltop, it overlooks the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, offering breathtaking panoramic views and deep historical significance.
The Joseph Stalin Museum in Gori, his birthplace, presents a collection of personal belongings, photographs, documents, and even his childhood home. Visitors can also see the armored train carriage he used for travel, offering insight into both his personal life and Soviet history.
Uplistsikhe is an ancient cave city carved into rock, dating back to the 1st millennium BC. Once a major religious, political, and trade center on the Silk Road, it features rock-hewn halls, tunnels, and dwellings that reveal Georgia’s early urban life. I had a very nice time visiting all the places Gary took us to. The only downside was that the museum visit was a bit too fast and i didn’t understand all that the museum guide said.

A trip outside of Tbilisi including the Stalin Museum
Gori was a great guide. Great sence of humour and interesting info. The cave village was very cool. The Stalin museum wasn’t really it. They told nothing about the bad stuff Stalin did. Overall solid day
We had an extremely nice and informative day. Our guide Garry was very friendly and has a lot of information on the history of every sight we viewed. The balance between information explanations, walking around the sights and free time was nice. It is clear Garry has been doing this for quite some time, at every stop everybody knew his name :). I would surely recommend the tour!
