On this tour we escort you to the site by public transport. Our fully trained guide will take you round all areas of the memorial site, giving you an insight into the suffering of the prisoners and relating the story of the concentration camp system to historical developments during the time of the National Socialist regime. We guide you round the cells, barracks and gas chamber and explain the meaning behind the pictures and exhibits in the museum with thought-provoking accounts of prisoners’ own experiences, from the setting up of the camp until their liberation by US-forces in 1945. There is a 22 minute documentary film in English, although we stress that this is deemed unsuitable for children underv 13 years old

Sobering
Michael was very good and informative it's a sobering place to go but everyone should well worth it.

Overbooked
Our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable and the camp itself was worth the trip and very nicely done. However, somehow the tour was overbooked and therefore we had to wait for additional tour guides to arrive which delayed our departure by an hour and therefore shortened our tour which was disappointing. Also because the tour was overbooked it made it challenging for the guides to navigate the group on the train and bus and one of our group members ended up getting off at the wrong station. Thankfully he was able to figure it out and go on the tour still. Again, our guide was great and came in on her day off to help but with the overbooking it was a challenge.

Michael did an outstanding job as the tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job making sure that everyone in the group stayed together and could hear him clearly at each stage of the tour. It was very informative.

This is a very good and informative tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He orchestrated our travel there and back seemlessly! There is a lot of walking, so be prepared. Finding out this was a work camp and not a death camp was a bit of a relief for me but still VERY sobering.

Learn from History
Alex was a great tour guide. Although it’s a heavy subject matter and a sad place to visit, it should be mandatory for everyone. If we don’t learn from history we’re bound to repeat it.

Michael was extremely knowledgeable and very sensitive to this tour. Would highly recommend Michael as a guide. Be prepared to walk and stand but so worth it.

Fantastic tour guide! If you get Alex consider yourself lucky. So refreshing to be around knowledgeable people that care what they are speaking about. He was extremely kind to everyone and just an all around nice person! Worth the day!
