Chichen Itza Private Tour – Early & direct Access + Valladolid

After reading so many wonderful reviews about this company, we decided to book the Chichén Itzá tour, and we are so glad we did! We were picked up in a very comfortable van by Enrique and Eddy, who both came to greet us and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. Throughout the entire trip, they were incredibly attentive, regularly checking whether we needed to stop to pick up anything for breakfast or take a comfort break, which was much appreciated given the early start and long drive. As promised, we arrived at Chichén Itzá before the crowds, which made such a difference to the experience. Eddy’s knowledge of the site and Mayan history was incredibly impressive, and it was fascinating listening to him share his insights. After walking around the site in the intense heat, it was such a lovely surprise to find Enrique waiting for us right by the entrance with the van, cold drinks and snacks. Those thoughtful little touches really made the day! We then headed to Valladolid for lunch, which was another lovely part of the trip. I honestly cannot recommend this company highly enough. We had already booked our trip to Coba and are so glad we did, but on the drive back, we were so impressed that we also booked a tour to Ek Balam! The whole experience was fantastic, with such knowledgeable, friendly and attentive hosts who genuinely care about making your day special. A huge thank you to Enrique for his excellent driving and for making the journey so comfortable, and to Eddy for being so knowledgeable, passionate and genuinely interesting to talk to. What an experience! Well worth the cost. Arriving at Chichen Itza when it opened, before the heat of the day and seeing old town Chichen Itza was fabulous! Our guide Eddy was very knowledgeable and guided us through Chichen Itza with ease. It was amazing to see old town Chichen Itza which most people do not take the time to visit. Our driver, Omar, was very professional and safe! It was a pleasant ride. Thank you again to Eddy for taking the time to answer all our questions and supplying us with so much information on the tour! Our 10 year old grandson remembered so much of what you said! He was telling his parents about the tour when we arrived home and still relating more about the tour five days later! Thank you again Eddy

Absolutely superb day visiting Chichen Itza with Arturo. Starting early in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat, we were picked up at our hotel (thanks to driver Enrique). It was a long journey but we had stops on the way. Arturo was very knowledgeable, giving us lots of facts, highlighting the key areas, explaining the main gods, customs and way of life. Lucky enough to see woodpecker and motmot birds too. As we left the site was crammed with visitors so we were thankful we had the early start. Had a delicious lunch in Valladolid with recommended typical Yucatan cuisine. Fabulous trip, waited a lifetime to see Chichen and was not disappointed. This is a well organised day out and we were really looked after. We have 2 more trips booked this week. Very highly recommend booking with Absolute Adventure

Everything about this excursion was perfect. They arrived right on time. The van was clean and comfortable. Our driver, Rodrigo, let us stop for bathroom breaks and snacks as we wanted. Luis, our guide, was very friendly. He gave us a great explanation of the site on the way there. That allowed us to move quickly through the site, but still see everything we wanted, which was great because it was SO hot and humid in July. We got there when it opened, which also helped with the heat. We were in within 5 minutes of arriving and it was busy. Luis made sure we saw all the most important sights, without rushing us, but also checking to make sure we wanted to continue with the heat. Nothing felt like a tourist trap. Every cost was included. Luis did take us to one of his preferred vendors because they had actual quality products. We did buy some souvenirs, but it was because we wanted to and felt like we weren’t being swindled. After we finished we did lunch in Valladolid, which was fantastic. We all loved the food and the 2 vegetarians in the group had several choices. After lunch we chose to do brief sightseeing and souvenir shopping. I was able to quickly find the souvenir I was looking for. We also appreciated learning about the background of the city and region. The entire tour focused on the Mayan culture as well as the ecology of the region. My nieces and nephew commented that they learned more in 1 day than they had learned all year in school (and they’re great students!) I can’t say enough good things about this excursion. It truly was the highlight of this trip and I will absolutely use this company again for other excursions if I’m able to return. The tour was private for our group. The more people that you have join, the cheaper it is per person. But it’s always just who you book in your own group. Totally private.

I’ve travelled all over the world and I can tell you, Eddie was an amazing tour guide!! He was very knowledgeable on the Mayan history and calendar system. They were on time for pickup, flexible to restroom breaks when needed and extremely friendly. Felt extremely safe while traveling and very comfortable. They also provided us with iced drinks before and after our private tour. I can’t recommend Eddie enough!!

We had a terrific early morning visit To the ruins. Arturo was a wonderful guide and was very knowledgeable about the site and the Yucatán and Mayan history. He and driver Enrique added so much depth to our trip and I’m so glad we booked them. Definitely worth getting up early to walk through before the heat and the crowds get too intense.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Absolute Adventure Mexico! Our guide Josh and driver Enrique were kind, professional, and knowledgeable. The day itself was absolutely perfect, with thoughtful touches like cold drinks and snacks provided in the van. The day started early, which was great because we arrived at Chichén Itzá before the tour buse and crowds, and before the blazing hot afternoon sun. We spent about two hours on the tour of the ruins, which was perfect. Josh knew a ton about the history and culture and was eager to share his knowledge. After the ruins, we went to the cenote to swim. We were offered the choice of a larger, more well-known cenote and a smaller one that was a bit quieter. We chose the quieter one, which was enclosed inside a cave. It was absolutely magical. The water was very cool and clear and there were very few other visitors. It was really like nothing we had ever experienced. After the refreshing swim, we went to a small restaurant in the town of Valladolid. We were offered the choice of five different entrées, all of which were superb. The owner of the restaurant was a very friendly woman and the service was great. She actually gave us fresh mangoes from her mango tree. Following lunch, we had about 30 minutes to walk around the main square in the town. We got some delicious ice cream and checked out the cathedral on the square. We arrived back at our hotel at about 5 PM, very tired and very satisfied. The private tours may be more expensive than some of the larger tours that take buses, but the service is tailored toward your interests, and all of the ticketing is taken care of before you go so there is no waiting in line at any of the attractions and no added costs because everything is included (except a tip). Because we were in a group of five people, the whole day felt like a really interesting conversation instead of a formal tour. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone, but be aware that there is quite a bit of walking and you have to be OK with very hot weather. We wore sun protective clothing to the ruins, which worked very well. Lots of people also had sun umbrellas, which was also a great idea.

Luis and Rodrigo were excellent. Luis is very knowledgeable and will share information you didn’t know. This tour was excellent and our entire family enjoyed it. I would definitely go again.

Absolute Adventure Mexico is the absolutely best thing we have done on our holiday to Mexico! We done the private tour to Chichen Itza with Dulce our tour guide and Omar our driver! They were amazing pick up early to get to the site first thing before it got busy (and hot!) Dulce was a wealth of information. Then over to Valadollid for lunch and some free time around the shops! Can’t say enough great things about our experience it was definitely the highlight of our holiday!

Yesterday our family took a once in a lifetime trip to explore Chichen Itza. We chose Absolute Adventure because we wanted a more private and flexible tour. They “absolutely” delivered! We appreciated that we had a separate driver (Enrique) and guide (Eddy). While Eddy discussed the days events and answered our many questions, Enrique focused on driving. The actual tour of Chichen Itza was amazing! Eddy did an excellent job of explaining the significance of the various structures. Our lunch in Valladolid was delicious and a special treat! We are traveling with our son who has autism. We informed Absolute Adventure of this when we scheduled our tour. Eddie was the perfect guide! He was so kind and patient with our son! He brought some items to help with our son. Our son used his neck fan. It kept him cool, plus the white noise hum of the fan helped our son’s stress in crowds. 110% recommend Absolute Adventure!! Ask for Enrique and Eddy!!!
