Chichen Itza Early Access & optional Hotel Pick up

Amazing experience. Marcella, our tour guide and Jose, our driver were awesome! They are passionate on their jobs. We’ve learned a lot and the ride was smooth. The van could use an upgrade and i felt sorry for the tall ones needing more legroom

We had a great time visiting Chichen Itza today with our family. Beto a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and friendly and he taught us a lot. The site was amazing and I would highly recommend this tour if you come to Cancun Mexico.

Experiencing Chichen Itza was a thrill. If you are looking for a no-frills tour from Cancun & back, this tour is for you. We were back at the hotel in the afternoon in time to sit at the pool & later have dinner with family. Lunch was not provided, but we stopped at a convenience store & also stopped for restroom breaks. We avoided the heat, crowds, traffic, & vendors with our early morning tour. Pastor made the experience educational & informative. David was a safe driver.

When you're in Cancun, you need to visit Chichen Itza. We rented a car and did it on our own without joining a tour. It was so much better. When you get there, you could pay for your own personal guide tour for 1300 pesos. It was about 1.5 hour. It was worth it. The site was fine. Lots of walking in the August heat. And lots of vendors everywhere trying to sell you their products. Wear a hat or bring a good size water bottle and an umbrella to shield from the sun. Our guide was good. He stuck to the script on his binder. He didn't make any wild claims that I've heard from other guides. Overall, it was great. Parking is not free but they take cards. The entrance was $40 per person, they also take cards. In all, we had a great time walking and learning.

Excellent overall and being in a small group and arriving early was definitely more comfortable. Our guide Ramiro was engaging and gave us a lot of freedom and answered a lot of questions !

Ramiro was a good guide. He gave explanations and kept to the schedule.

Early acces less people, not so hot. Good driver (David), attend an experta guide (pastor). Really funnievthevway he explian the Bole Game.

Very good option, you arrive just as the archaeological area opens, you avoid extreme heat and crowds..David was a good driver without doing anything strange, the guide Pastor was attentive and masters the subject. Great how he presents the fronton.

My wife and I really enjoyed our tour of Chichen Itza with our guide Manuel and our driver Jose through Amigo Tours. We were able to arrange pickup right outside our hotel (Presidente Intercontinental) in the hotel zone of Cancún, which was at 5:10 am, before picking up a few other people to join the tour. Our group was 12 in total, which I think was a good size for the experience. Small enough to feel friendly, but not so small as to feel like it was overbearing. Also (since it wasn't entirely clear when we booked), the cost of entry to Chichen Itza is included in the tour price, as was the cost of the toll road, and both of these were handled by Manuel and Jose. The only additional cost after booking the tour was the state mandatory tax, which we were able to pay online right after booking (Amigo sent us a direct link to do so). I wish the booking had been a little clearer that no food or drink was provided, although we did have brief opportunities to buy our own snacks and water. With the early start, we were able to arrive at Chichen Itza right when it opened (8 am), before many of the local vendors had even set up their stands. Manuel spoke fluently in Spanish and English, though gave almost all the information in easy to understand English, as our group was mostly English speaking. Manuel did also arrange a Spanish guide for a Spanish speaking couple when we got on site. The tour itself was very informative about the main central pyramid, the smaller Jaguar/Eagle and Venus pyramids, the ball court, and the market area (with all the columns). He shared a lot of information about Mayan culture, including the Mayan calendar, naming customs, war and relations between cities, trade, monument construction, ritual sacrifice (and why people volunteered to be sacrificed), and warrior culture, and how all that related to the actual buildings there. He even showed us and let us handle a reproduction of the rubber ball used in the ball court. In total, we were at the actual Chichen Itza site for a little less than 2 hours (it takes some time to walk there from the parking lot / drop off area). The guided part of the tour was about an hour and the rest of the time we were given free reign to explore before meeting back up to leave at 10:30. The travel is inherently long due to the distance, and we hit some traffic on the way back, so we arrived back to our hotel around 4:00 PM - local time, as Chichen Itza is a different time zone, an hour behind Cancún. This tour was a great way for us to not only see but also learn about the significance of Chichen Itza, and we didn't feel like we missed out by not going to other stops. If anything, I would have liked to have a little more time at the main archaeological site and a little more information on the Tripadvisor page, but otherwise I don't think I could have had a better experience!

It was great! Manuel (Tequila) gave a lot of cool facts and history regarding not only the pyramid and the Mayans but also of the cenotes even though the tour was specific to Chichen Itza. We arrived at open and left by 10:30 AM so the crowds weren't that bad. It was honestly a relief to get out by then because the sheer amount of people coming into the area when we were leaving was unbelievable. There was a lot of driving due to the distance, as expected. The drive was nearly 8 hours round trip since we went to Playa del Carmen from Canun for more pickups. Left at 5AM and returned around 3-4PM.
