Basic but functional

A bit tricky. I selected English as the language and downloaded the app, but it downloaded the French version instead, which several other users have also reported. I went into Settings, changed the language to Spanish, then switched it back to English and downloaded it again. The second time, the English version downloaded correctly. Also, the app drains your phone’s battery quite quickly, so it’s a good idea to bring a power bank with you. As for the tour, it’s fairly basic and skips quite a few places, but overall it was okay.

Operator response

Hello Andres, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am sorry to hear that the tour route and commentary felt a bit basic. Your feedback is very valuable and will help us enrich the content during our next update of this itinerary. Regarding the language setup, you found the exact right solution! The app defaults to French upon entry, and manually switching the language in the Settings menu is indeed the correct way to force the app to load the English files. Finally, thank you for sharing the great tip about bringing a power bank with future travelers, as continuous GPS navigation and audio can indeed drain the battery quickly. Georges

The GPS which you must have turned on to use drains the battery

I’m sure it’s a great guide it just uses way too much battery using the gps. I had it on for about an hour of normal use and it drained the battery of my iPhone. It does warn you to have a full battery before you start, which I obviously had but I got a warning telling me again after using it for a while so unless you’re using a power bank or you can keep your mobile battery topped up in between use then I don’t recommend this guide. Thankfully it wasn’t too much but lesson learned. By the way you think you’re saving power and roaming charges by downloading the guide but in fact you’re just saving roaming.

Operator response

Hello Andrew, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found the content of the guide to be of high quality. As you mentioned, using GPS for real-time navigation and high-quality audio triggers does consume battery, which is why we include a recommendation in our instructions to start the tour with a fully charged device. For longer tours like this one in Budapest, we also suggest carrying a power bank for extra comfort. We appreciate you highlighting that downloading the guide effectively saves on roaming charges and data usage, which is one of the main benefits of our offline mode. Best regards, Georges

I used this...

I used this audio guide during my stay in Budapest. The concept is interesting and the price remains affordable (just under €6), but the experience left me rather disappointed. The content is too succinct and underdeveloped. Only 23 monuments are included, while the city has many more. Expectations are for more comprehensive, in-depth and better-worked content. Getting started is also complicated and poorly explained. I had to ask for a refund before being clearly explained the activation procedure. In short, the idea is good and the price attractive, but the content and ergonomics deserve a lot of improvement.

Operator response

Cordialement, Georges

Great tour of Budapest!

On weekend in Budapest with friends we decided to follow this guided tour with phone audio guides and honestly it was super interesting! We followed a route through the city and the audios were automatically triggered in front of the monuments. We learned a lot about Budapest and places we wouldn't have gone on our own! PS: being the only French, I took the tour in Spanish, it's very good with a very nice voice:)
