We visited the...
We visited the Basilica and bought tickets to climb Brunelleschi's Dome. This climb is the highlight of our visit. Wow is the word when arriving at the top. ❤️
Operator response
Bonjour Linda,
« Wow » est probablement le mot qui revient le plus naturellement lorsqu’on arrive enfin au sommet du Dôme de Brunelleschi !
Après les 463 marches et les passages étroits à l’intérieur de la coupole, découvrir Florence depuis là-haut est une récompense assez extraordinaire.
Nous sommes très heureux que l’ascension ait été le moment fort de votre visite.
Merci d’avoir choisi Walks in Town pour découvrir le Duomo de Florence.

Duomo Tour
60+ couple with 1 knee replacement and we made it to the top on a very hot day with no issues. A great experience.
Operator response
Ciao Scott,
Making it to the top on a hot day - knee replacement included - certainly gives you both bragging rights!
The 463 steps of Brunelleschi’s Dome are a very individual challenge, but there’s something particularly satisfying about emerging at the top after climbing through the structure itself and finally seeing Florence spread out below.
We’re very happy it became such a great experience for you both.
Thank you for choosing Walks in Town for your reserved Duomo tickets.

Worth it!
It's valid for several days but I managed it all in one go as I wasn't in Florence long. I went in March and chose the 10am slot- queues were short at this time. The views are spectacular from the dome and the bell tower! Take water
Operator response
Hi Katie,
You definitely made the most of your time in Florence!
The Brunelleschi Pass gives you several days to explore the Duomo Complex, but tackling both Brunelleschi’s Dome and Giotto’s Bell Tower in one day is quite an achievement - and a lot of steps.
Great advice about the water too. We’re happy our reserved ticket experience helped you fit so much into a short stay and that Florence rewarded the effort with those spectacular views.
Thank you for choosing Walks in Town.

Florence Doumo rooftop and cathedral
The Doumo walk is a lot of stairs, be prepared. Entrance via the crypt avoiding the long cathedral lines.
Lovely fresco in the dome tho dramatic scenes. Well worth viewing as you go up the stairs.
Operator response
Grazie Alan,
You summed up the Brunelleschi’s Dome experience very well: a lot of stairs, dramatic frescoes up close, and a view that makes the effort worthwhile.
I’m also glad you made use of the Cathedral access through the Crypt, which is one of the practical benefits included with the Duomo complex pass.
As an official partner of the Opera del Duomo, we’re proud to help visitors navigate the different monuments and make the most of the time their pass gives them.
Thank you for choosing Walks in Town.

Low value tour
Very little info provided. Just a couple short audio clips
Operator response
Hi Sean,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
I'm sorry to hear the audioguide didn't meet your expectations. Our app actually includes more than 20 audio stops covering the Dome and the entire Duomo Complex, designed to accompany visitors throughout the visit rather than as just a few standalone clips. It's possible some of the content wasn't accessed during your experience, and we're sorry if that wasn't clear.
We really appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve both the app and the instructions we provide before the visit.
Thank you again, and we hope you'll have the opportunity to experience Florence with us again in the future.

Must see in Florence
Good advice to go early. Attention 2x + 400 steps to climb.
Operator response

Worth the effort!
The dome climb is not for those with mobility issues. Very rewarding once you reach the top. perfect weather is a big key to maximizing the experience. We did not experience other options from the package, but overall is a great box checker!!
Operator response
Hey David!
Grazie mille - really appreciate this.
You said it well: it’s a bit of an effort, but the payoff at the top makes it worth it.
And yes, good weather definitely takes it to another level 🔝

Great experience!
Great experience. Easy use. Recommended to buy tickets for exhibits for ease and quickness. All the spaces were easy to get into especially when it’s really busy.

Great Duomo experience!
John was a great guide. We followed his instructions on where to go and it was super smooth. I recommend downloading the PDF to the phone. You need this to enter all exhibits so being familiar with the PDF and making it large so the readers see it. We needed it for the dome twice, the cyrpt entry to the Duomo (near the bell tower), the cyrpt entry in the basilica and the bapteristy. All the entry people if you had the PDF accessible. There are line but just follow these for the entries with tickets. You can wait until the afternoon too. John is great and respsonsive if you have questions, he was great.
Operator response

Glad everything felt easy to navigate and that the instructions helped along the way.
Thanks again for your kind words and support!
Best regards,
John
