Possibly the worst golf in America with a great view?
Wish I'd read the reviews on this course before we golfed. We realize it's the Alaskan interior and weren't expecting a luxury course, but this was quite frankly, a s*** hole. The course maintenance is nonexistent. The tee boxes barely had grass on them, and the fairways were exceptionally narrow. Our excursion included a cart and club rental - but these clubs had been through hell and back. I'm talking full on dented drivers, bent irons, etc. The cart paths were almost unnavigable. Our cruise line had told us when booking that this was the northernmost golf course in America, which is actually not true. We were handed tees, four balls (including our souvenir ball) in a plastic grocery store bag. The whole thing was redneck to the max. I don't know what we expected, but I did give 2 stars for the scenery. We kept reminding ourselves that even though the golf was absolute s***, the scenery was beautiful.

Golfing in Alaska
End of season golf at Black Diamond was exactly as expected. The course is built on permafrost so while not the most pristine course it was exactly what we as 3 good golfers expected for a great afternoon and can now say we golfed in one of the northernmost courses in the world. The views alone were worth the trip. Good local beers in the clubhouse and the included souvenir ball and golf towel are a great keepsake. The staff were wonderful. Memories for a lifetime.

Unexpected gem in the wilderness
We had so much fun playing this quirky course! We expected unusual conditions, but were not prepared for the extent of the bumpy fairways, rocky cart paths and undulating greens (harder than miniature golf!). We laughed our way through 12 holes. (It’s a nine hole course, but you can play around again as much as desired.) You can’t take it too seriously, but that doesn’t mean it is easy; for those who are serious golfers there are plenty of challenging holes! The food was amazing (try the crab and shrimp nachos!) as was the service.

Very nice experience
We had a very nice 3 hours. Golf was with car, clubs and balls. Terrain was nice, bumpy but laughed. Not a standard golf course but a lot of fun to do. Reception was very friendly and very friendly. Pick up and return to resort was very well arranged. We can say, we played golf in Alaska 😄👍🏻👍🏻

A Moose interrupted our golf game
We had a great time! This is definitely a ‘tundra’ course which made it all that much more fun! Challenging, but fun! This isn’t your lower 48 country club setting. A few, or more, lost balls but it didn’t matter as they supplied them plus we found plenty too! Views were beautiful! Then there was that MOOSE that lumbered by on the 9th green! Just wow! A once in a lifetime moment we will never forget!

Save your money.. this is not a golf course
I thought Black Diamond would be a little quirky 9 hole track but it was much much worse than I expected. It’s little more than a cow pasture with flags scattered about. It was a complete rip-off from the worn-out carts to the beat-up old clubs. The layout is incomprehensible and the greens non-existent. All-in-all a complete waste of time and money. I don’t see how they can claim to be a golf “course” with a straight face.

First Time Visit
My hubby said tee boxes need to be more visible. It should not have hazards in the middle of the fairway. Flag should be visible from the tee box.

Good photos; terrible golf
If you come to get a photo of you golfing in Alaska; great. If you wanted to actually golf, don’t bother. Course is 9 very short & narrow “fairways”; all very rough; one was underwater (and it had not rained in a week). Greens were like ski moguls. The “Resort” combines covered wagons, ATV trails, and cart paths in one area!

A Once in a Lifetime Golf Experience
Outstanding and very different golf experience. We played on the 2nd day that the course was open, so, as Lisa, the GM explained, the course was a bit "rustic." Her staff set us up with clubs (I"m a leftie woman), cart, balls, markers, and tees. To play among the mountains of Denali is a once in a lifetime experience. If you're a golfer and you're going to Denali, give yourself a half-day to catch a round. We had a blast and hope you do too.
