The bicycle tour of Soweto was fantastic! We were picked up at Peech Hotel and driven to Book Ihboni bike store where we were greeted by our knowledgeable tour guides. Our tour guides, Wandi, Region and the young man with the beard (sorry, I forgot his name) did an excellent job explaining some of the local facts in Orlando East, Orlando West and Hector Peiterson Museum. I liked that our bike route took us in and around the neighborhoods where we stopped at historical sights, such as the Mandela house. I would highly recommend this tour!
Thank you
Great experience. You get to see the top attractions in Soweto by bike including Nelson Mandela house, Desmond Tutu house, and the Soweto stacks. You also get off the bikes at one of the stops for a guided walk through the narrow alleyways of the township. You get to go inside a local resident’s house and meet the family.
Thank you
Nice to see how things are going in Soweto and various other places in South Africa. Nice explanation from the guide. Afterwards a delicious lunch.
Thankbyou
Mk, he is very fun with knowledge and educational experience that we have learned during the your! Visited Nelson Mandela museum ,distillery and the tower
Thank you for your review
Education tour I was with my husband’ and 2 other friends on this tour, was amazed with the abundance of history in Soweto that help to shape South Africa to end the Apartheid. Our guide “MK” was so brilliant, bicycle were in Good conditions, we received water and guided in the museum!. Round up transportation we’re served to our private tour. We highly recommend this company and Mk who have gone extra mile with customer service.
Thank you for the review
Firstly our driver was an hour late. So we had to be picked up by an Uber driver. Then they used a volunteer - who was very good - but he said he doesn't get paid and he is very thirsty. We were suppose to get water and a helmut. But didn't get any one of the 2. Apparently in Soweto you don't wear helmets??? I think they borrowed the bikes from kids on the street. The one bikes peddles didn't even match. We paid over R4000 for 3 people!!!!! Such a rip off!!!!
We don’t know about this situation! Perhaps is for different company not us!.
M.K. was a great guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Soweto. My husband and I learned a lot from him. M.K. was on time to pick us up at our hotel. The bikes, however, were not in good working condition and were a struggle to ride, particularly when we were riding against traffic in small lanes. We were guided to the former homes of Nelson and Winnie Mandela and Desmond Tutu and the site of the 1976 student uprising. We also made several stops with heavy pressure to purchase local wares, drink beer (fee not included) and toured Nazamo Park, a shantytown community in the Orlando East area of Soweto.
We will look at the bike’s health
Mike was a top guide. He took his time and when we had a request he tried to do it. So we visited a Soweto Brewery and had a had a very nice lunch there also.
It motivates us to always bring the best
We were picked up neatly in time at our B&B Agterplaas in Melville by our tour guide Mike for a 3-hour bike tour in Soweto. Cycling on the back of the car and on the way to Soweto. Very nice and enthusiastic young man who knew a lot about Soweto. The origin of Soweto, the history and the uprisings in Soweto. About Mandela and Bishop Tutu. We also got a tour in a neighborhood where people live in the least comfortable houses. This tour was done by a resident from the neighborhood itself. Respect for the people that they can live this way. They have to. Mike thanks for the impressive tour. We learned a lot there. 👍👍👍
We guess that is the good comments supplied above
