Beneath The Streets Underground History Tour

Description
Go underground on a 1-hour walking history tour through Seattle's original neighborhood. Our experienced guides lead small groups above, and beneath, Pioneer Square to the street level that existed in the 1890s. Explore underground pathways that were built more than 120 years ago, learning details on early Seattle history, why these spaces were built, and how they have been used (and misused) over the years. Marvel at how this former tidal flat has since transformed into one of the 20 largest cities in the United States.

This was such a cool tour. We really were able to go into Seattle's underground and check out it out. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the various subjects, although he did lean into the political, which I did not mind, but I understand how some would not enjoy. Overall, such a good tour.
The tour was really good I appreciated that it was more history than theatrical. One suggestion though is if kids are going on the tour they shouldn't be weaving in and out of people bumping into people the entire time. I think the tour guide should have said something to the parents. I got my purse knocked off my shoulder twice and bumped into more times by the same kid.
Jim Gall was our guide. He was knowledgeable about Seattle's history. Yes you go up and down stairs, yet all stairs had solid railing. That kept it easy going. Jim even sang the theme of Here Comes the Brides, an old tv show from the early 70’s, based on Seattle history. Nice tour for a day tour.

Thank you Carter Churchfield for the Seattle that’s not written about in the history books. Worth the price of admission just to learn about the origin story of the U.of W. ;-)
