Tokuryu was such a amazing teacher! Very patient and detailed oriented teaching shamisen techniques and kabuki culture! I highly recommend and will definitely take another lesson when I visit Tokyo again. Arigatō gozaimasu Tokuryu!!!
This was an experience that I will treasure. The instructor, Miyuki, was patient and I was able to learn a song. She was pleasant and personable, easy to talk. Her knowledge of the shamisen made it more interesting. She also met us at the train station so we wouldn’t get lost 😅
An absolutely amazing experience. Tokuryu-san is a wonderful performer and a patient and supportive teacher. In addition to performing and teaching the instrument, she also shared some of the history of both shamisen and kabuki. I will definitely be coming back for another lesson next time I’m in Tokyo!
