Itinerary
Kick off your walking food tour in Monastiraki, one of Athens’ oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods, hosting landmarks like Hadrian’s Library, an 18th-century mosque, and the ancient Iridanos River, still flowing beneath the square. You’ll also enjoy some of the best views of the Acropolis, among many other hidden gems. Try one of the most beloved Greek food, Souvlaki or Gyros as we visit some of the oldest eateries of Athens. The tour starts and ends near Monastiraki, making it easy to combine tasting local flavors with sightseeing.
This is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods where we will mingle with the locals and discover some unique spots. Psirri area hosts one of the oldest squares in Athens (Plateia Iroon), where you will find many local tavernas with live music, eateries, bars and cafes. The neighborhood is also famous for some of the city’s best artisan shops and street art murals. Here, we will try different varieties of the Greek traditional puff pastry pie.
Stroll through one of Athens’ most iconic central neighborhoods, where you'll interact with locals, discover a blend of ancient and modern landmarks, and explore popular hangouts. Along the way, enjoy a tasting of Greek cold cuts and local cheeses, followed by a seated dinner featuring traditional dishes, and end on a sweet note with a classic Greek dessert.

We had a wonderful food tour of Athens. We did this tour on our first evening and our guide Maria was fantastic. We had so much food and learned a lot about the preparation of different Greek foods. Would highly recommend!!!
Fantastic food tour with an amazing guide! The food was delicious, and our guide, Kat, was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience so much fun. The whole family loved it. In fact, the food was so good, we went back and had dinner at one of the restaurants on the tour while we were in Athens.
It was exciting to hang-out with other foodies on this tour! Clea was our guide. Her passion for food could be felt and was even contagious to a few of my non-foodie family members. We were very well fed on our 5 stops and there was a lot of good commentary a long the way. This tour was so good, that if come back to Athens in the future, I will want to do it again. If you choose a foodie tour, do it at the beginning of the trip so you can have more appreciation of the Greek cuisine for the rest of your stay.
Had an amazing evening, Kat was a brilliant host. Would highly recommend for a fun night with fab food
Constantina was a wonderful host. She knows a lot about her hometown and its food. Friendly and relaxed. My 94-year old mother was with us. I’d previously communicated with the tour to inquire about how strenuous the walk would be. Unfortunately I don’t think it was made clear to me what would be involved. She was only able to stay with us for one stop and then she returned to her hotel. Besides that, the only drawback was the heat. Still very hot in the evening and one of the places we stopped was having AC problems. Whew! Eating outdoors would have been so much better. Food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.
Fabulous food tour with great variety, quality, and quantity of food and drink. A perfect way to start our time in Athens!
Well worth the time! Food was fabulous. There was a good variety. Our tour guide O…was very knowledgeable about Greek history and the food. He took great care of each person. Very enjoyable.
Cat was wonderful! She was so sweet and knowledgeable. Our stops were perfect! The food was great! Awesome experience!
Met Yanis at the location along with two other couples. The best food tour in Athens. Tasted some of the best Greek foods. Yanis was patient, went at a pace comfortable for everyone. The Souvlaki was delicious & there was so much food offered at each place we stopped.
It was a really fun night! Constantine did a great job! We were introduced to many Greek specialties and traditions. Everything local and fresh. Walked through new areas of Athens and had a great night. It was a lot of food!
