Athens Coastal Bike tour and Swimming Adventure

I can’t recommend the Athens Coastal Bike Tour enough! The biking is very manageable, with mostly flat paths and plenty of opportunities to pause for a photo or cool down along the way. Julien was a charming and thoughtful guide, always checking in and ready to adapt the experience to your interests or needs. He handles the traffic and crowds with ease, making it easy to feel safe and enjoy the surroundings. He also shared interesting details about the sights along the way with a great sense of humor that made conversation easy and enjoyable. The swimming was absolutely fantastic! At Julien’s suggestion, we went to the furthest beach, which was quieter, more peaceful, and felt like a real taste of local life. If you’re in a small group, the experience feels even more relaxed and personal. I would do this trip again in a heartbeat! A great choice for solo travelers, couples, or friends. Bring a towel and plenty of water, and come with a sense of curiosity—you’ll have everything you need for a great adventure!

This bike tour was a great way to see parts of Athens and some close by beaches. The tour guide was great and gave useful info along the way and will cater the bike riding based on fitness levels. This is was a highlight of our time in Athens, highly recommend!

Easy, flat bike ride to the coast which mainly stays on local bike path. Once there you have about a hour to explore on your own, swim or grab a drink. Our guide was good. The only negative was that the other family with us had a mom trying to video the trip while riding part of the time.

Nico was fantastic! Such a relaxing bike ride and loved seeing the coast. Opportunity to swim if desired! Highly recommend.

Nikos was the absolute best. Traveling to Greece with my sister and my nieces (18 and 9) and chose this bicycle tour, hoping to see Athens from a different perspective and to go for a swim. Give our limited schedule, we chose the night tour and also ended up running a little late to the tour because our bus didn't arrive. Nikos is a *dream tour guide*. Personable, professional, competent, kind, enthusiastic, and extra thoughtful touches. My 9yo niece has bicycled before but didn't have a lot of confidence and was very nervous! Nikos put her right at ease and had her try 3 different bicycles for size and comfort before we departed. Much appreciated! Bicycles, bike helmets, and flashing bike lights for all. We set off at dusk, Nikos leading the way, and the youngest right behind him. Much of the tour is on the only bike path in Athens which made for super smooth sailing. Any traffic we encountered, Nikos guided us through and would actually put himself between us and the cars. Heroic. We felt very safe! Amazing to see the city from this perspective, all lit up. Passing grocery stores, soccer fields, ballet studios, with a brief stop and explanation in front of the most gorgeous building, all lit up at night, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. We arrived at the beach (halfway point, about 4.5 miles), and unfortunately it was too cold to swim but we put our toes in the water and instead of swimming; Nikos was so kind as to suggest we make a gelato stop instead before we return. Amazing. Nikos made us feel like friends that he was sharing his passion with. 10/10 highly recommend. One of the highlights of our trip to Greece.

Ride leader Magde is friendly, helpful and clearly an experienced bike ride leader. The trip is mainly on a protected cycle lane and not too taxiing. I was the only customer on this particular ride (but it is end of season). The beach is fine with changing cubicles and showers. A nice way of seeing a bit more of Athens.

I went for the sunset ride, leaving from the meeting point at 5pm, back by 8:30...It was a beautiful ride and fun to experience the bike lanes connecting various public spaces. The bike ride wasn't too intense but was long enough to feel like a workout, around 45 minutes to and from the beach each way. Magda was a great guide and organizer and took care of setting up the bikes according to height. The beach was beautiful and felt more of a local than touristic. The bar is quite nice as well. Highly recommend it!
