Wonderful afternoon

Very nice experience- the Gallery is an excellent destination for art and culture. The building is extremely pleasant and cozy , the exhibits are in abundance from classics to modern art - there is something for everyone to discover around every corner. Will definitely go back.

Museum Well Worth Visiting

The museum is a great stop to make when visiting Toronto! We enjoy the masters and impressionists most of all. The exhibit on loan from Dallas Museum of Art is very nice. After seeing the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam , the Louvre, National Gallery in London, The Prado in Madrid, The Chicago Museum of Art and others still this is a good stop to spend a few hours.

Really worth it

Impressive and really worth it. Also much work by the Flemish Primitives. A recommendation to visit. The air conditioners were very cold.

Current special exhibits

Impressionist Revolution: This is absolutely a not-to-be-missed exhibition. There is a wonderful depth and breadth to this exhibition. The curators have done an excellent job with the layout and flow. There is also lots of background info scattered throughout. I also really enjoyed the breadth of painters who were included. Picture Space: It certainly makes you think. A very different take on photography. Diego Marcon - The Bubble Boy: Definitely not my cup of tea. I lost interest after just a couple of minutes and this seemed to be the same for other people as well.

Something for Everyone

The Art Gallery of Ontario has wonderful regular exhibits, a style for everyone. The special exhibit they currently have Monet to Matisse is well worth seeing. Easy to get to using the TTC

Bag check

3 floors of art. You can front carry or check a small backpack. One of the guides gave an impromptu talk on a couple paintings which was excellent.

Great art museum

You should be there early; there were a lot of people in line later. The building is quite impressive from the inside and outside.

A lovely day made better by the wonderful staff

A world class Art Gallery in downtown Toronto. I had purposely rearramged my holiday so i could visit and it didnt let me down. A wide ranging collection, plus i was lucky the Impressionist Exhibition had not long opened, a real bonus. I even had a lovely cake and drink in the cafe to round things off.

A great gallery with lots to see

The AGO is an attractive gallery, with well laid out exhibits and a diverse collection of works that offers something for everyone. It was clean, bright and easy to navigate. We were there at opening time so it was not very crowded for most of our visit, but it got very busy as the day progressed. We had hoped to see the "Monet to Matisse" special exhibit, but it was only open for members at that point and would not be available for general viewing for a few days. Despite that fact, we still enjoyed our visit here.

Absolutely beautiful gallery

I live in Toronto and finally became a member of the AGO. It's such a peaceful place to go to and full of beautiful artwork. There are regular exhibits and activities happening all of the time. They have a good website which provides you with all the information you need to plan a trip to the gallery. There is also a restaurant in the gallery called Frank which is quite nice, but a bit on the high end. Across the street are two Pub like Restaurants if you're looking for something a little less expensive.
