A great way to get acquainted with local indigionous people's of the region. Our tour guide, John, adapted the tour for us so we also got to stop at earthquake park and get a little more history of that event. The time we spent talking to the native carvers in Anchorage and what we learned at the Alaske Native Heritage center, will remain with us. We highly reco.mend this tour.
Clint was our private tour guide. Usually I go on a bus with dozens and dozens of people and I absolutely have never had a problem and always love my excursion. This time I decided to have a more personal excursion VIP and it was the best excursion I ever had. I've been on cruise ships and taking shore excursions since 2001 and this by far was the best one yet. In the beginning of the tour we even got to see the TurnAgain area with a tide comes in and goes back out. It was a surprise and I am so lucky because that's what I wanted to see!!!
The city highlights were very limited…only two, and one was out of town. The cultural center was informative, well presented and also entertaining. Sam, our tour guide and driver, was engaging and had a good sense of humor. Would suggest Viator provide more tour guide info about Anchorage, more sights in the city, and a longer visit to the cultural center. Recommend this tour with changes noted.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Alaska Native Heritage Center and that Sam made the experience engaging and entertaining. This three-hour experience is designed as a City Highlights and Indigenous Heritage Tour, with the primary focus on Alaska Native history, culture, and traditions. The city portion includes a drive through downtown Anchorage and Ship Creek, along with a stop at the Grandma Olga statue, before continuing to the Heritage Center for two hours. Our afternoon tour also includes a stop at the Alaska Art Alliance; unfortunately, it is not open during our morning tour. We appreciate your suggestion for additional Anchorage commentary and sightseeing and will share your feedback with our team. We will also review the tour description to ensure the cultural focus and differences between the morning and afternoon itineraries are clearly communicated. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and recommendation.
Talyn was great! Thoughtful, knowledgeable. It was a good experience
From the start, Britain was so helpful with my Anchorage plans. I then reserved the Heritage Museum tour. My tour guide, Clint. Wonderful! He was beyond acommodating, and his knowledge just astounded me. We actually got to see Beluga whales atShips Creek which Clint assured me was a rare ocurrance! Then onto the museum. With my limited mobility, I opted to not walk to the habitats, but Clint wasn't having any of that! He got a wheelchair and pushed me all around in the rain and into the habitats! I can't even begin to tell you how above and beyond this was! I was very lucky to have a day that was ok become one for the bucket list! Do not miss this tour, it is a must see to start your Anchorage/Alaska experience. Thank you. Clint and best wishes to you with the birth of your twins!
My bus driver Clint was excellent! My disembarkation was running late due to my ship having a medical emergency onboard and Clint was so kind and patient with me as I was nervous the bus would leave without me. Not only did Clint wait for me, he helped me get my luggage and got it loaded on the bus for me. I would take PAT again just because of his caring attitude. I did also enjoy his narration on our drive. The heritage center was a nice place to visit. I enjoyed seeing the examples of indigenous homes.
This tour delves into the lives and customs of the Alaskan people in a way that no other tour does. Quite unique. Talyn is a very personable and affable guide. Good job!
Joe was an excellent guide. Very personable, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to make the visit memorable.
Amelia is amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable! We all loved our tour! Thank you so much for the experience!
Sam was great! There was a change in pick up location due to some road construction and he was very communicative about arranging an alternative pick up. Excellent tour! He had lots of great information.. I highly recommend this tour if you want to visit the ANHC and see some other bits of Anchorage in an afternoon!
