Experience the Big Outdoors and Portage Glacier Cruise! See the amazing beauty that surrounds Anchorage. This special tour does not follow any set route. Nor does it follow a time table. Use your time wisely by going into the wilderness to see wildlife and view glaciers. Summer only: an option, on a 80 ft. cruise ship. (available 11am departure only and May 15 - Sep 15) We follow the sun, the wind and our hearts to navigate your vacation towards the most scenic locations capable for the day of your tour. The Wilderness Wildlife Glacier Experience includes entrance into the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. During summer you'll have an option to include a glacier cruise on the mv Ptarmigan. Learn about our rich history and see the Ring of Glaciers. This award winning tour can not be replicated by any other service or shuttle. The Wilderness Wildlife Glacier Experience offers highly trained Guides who's sole purpose is making your vacation memories last a lifetime.

Anchorage City Tour as we exit into the wilderness/
With a rich historic footprint in Anchorage the rail system is viewable during our tour
Above 3000 feet, a notable mountain peak viewable throughout Anchorage
Scenic Viewpoint to Beluga whale watch Free photography lessons offered.
Seasonal Self-Guided walk to the foot of Byron Glacier. Typically, later May to mid Sept.
Bird Point and selective Viewpoints to photograph soaring eagles, mountain goats, whales or walk upon alpine meadows. Free photography lessons offered.
See amazing flying wildlife as well as the marsh areas that are home to moose, salmon and other migrating wildlife.
See the scenic valley views. Look for seasonal bears and eagles.
Guided Tour within conservation park to see brown bear, wolves and bison. Photography lessons offered.
Available only during summer, from June to August, optional-Upgrade. Glacier Cruise to be upclose to Portage Glacier. See up close the face of Portage Glacier on the Ptarmigan Cruise ship. See up to 14 glaciers embedded within rugged mountains of the Chugach National Forest, that form the Ring of Glaciers. This Cruise, can be upgraded for an additional fee this is not included in the regular tour cost. The Portage Glacier cruise is in conjunction with the U.S. Dept of Agriculture and hosted by a U.S. Park Ranger. This boat ride is NOT included in Wilderness Wildlife Glacier Experience basic tour. The regular tour, without cruise ship upgrade, still views glaciers within Glacier Valley. Free Photography Lessons offered.
Walk on America's most northern rain forest
See the scenic glacial ponds of Explorer Glacier. When seasonally available we walk on the Blue Ice Trail.
Ring of Glaciers. A wonder of glaciers that surround a lake filled with pure glacial run off. As we return to Anchorage, live entertainment is offered.

Our tour guide was EXCELLENT, friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. He was so familiar with the territory and pointed out things we would have never noticed. It was also so gratifying to spend time with someone who truly loves his job and wanted to share his love and experiences with travelers.
We enjoyed having Sunshine as our tour guide and I appreciate his ability to be friendly and organized.
This was an incredible tour! Our guide was amazing and made sure we saw lots of wildlife and animals. He made so many stops along the way. He also kept us very safe on the trails with bear spray. Our glacier cruise was cancelled due to bad weather but we got refunded and we had much more fun hiking!
My husband and I took this tour during our first visit to Alaska. Our tour guide James was VERY knowledgeable, kind and made our trip a fun one! James even offered tips on how to enhance our photo taking; which was really cool. We really enjoyed the glaciers and wildlife and new information we learned. Would definitely recommend.
Incredible tour! We got to see so much in six hours and we also got in a great amount of walking. Our tour guide was so impressive and he shared so much information. He also made sure to keep us safe by bringing bear spray on the trails. Our glacier cruise was canceled because of the wind but honestly, it was cooler to go hiking anyway - especially if you’ve seen other glaciers in Alaska. I recommend eating a big breakfast because you don’t eat until 3 pm, which is 7 pm ET haha We were fine because we ate right before but bring snacks if you think you’ll get hungry!
This is a great tour for all ages, and Anna, the guide, was excellent. She has a wealth of information about the history of the sites we visited.
We can't say enough about sunshine or the excursion! He was so knowledgeable and answered all questions. He made sure everyone was taken care off, had what they needed, pointed out interesting things and kept the tour moving perfectly. I can't say enough about Sunshine! Please recognize an awesum person for a job well done!
We had a wonderful tour. Our guide was Sunshine. He was so knowledgeable about everywhere we went. Took his time. Made sure we were all comfortable. He is so personable and friendly. He took great pictures that he shared with the whole group. We'd definitely recommend this tour, and recommend Sunshine as the guide.
