Alaska Native Heritage Center
During your visit you will experience Alaska Native dancing, compelling Native Games demonstrations and Village Site tours. You will stroll through six authentic life-sized Native dwellings situated in a wooden area around beautiful Lake Tiulana. One of our Culture Bearers will introduce you to the traditional lifeways of the Inupiaq, St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Athabascan, Eyak, Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Unangax, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq, Yupik, and Cup'ik peoples.
Our re-imagined gift shop focuses exclusively on the sales of authentic Alaska Native arts. Ch’k’iqadi is a Dena’ina Athabascan word meaning “things we buy” and at the Gallery, you have the opportunity to buy art, jewelry and more from talented Alaska Native artists representing all regions and cultures of Alaska. We work to build a strong and sustainable place for our artists to sell their work for years to come. Your purchase directly supports our arts, cultures, and the Alaska Native artist community.

A Celebration of Native American Culture
It was an excellent experience that provided you with insight about the Native American culture. It was fascinating to learn about the Indigenous traditions and the enduring spirit of the Native American.

Moving Storytelling of the Alaska Native Peoples
The ANHC, which we visited as a time filler before catching our flight, turned out to be the highlight of our visit to Anchorage. We were deeply moved by the story of the Alaska native people as told by the Center. It is excellently done. Don't miss seeing the ANHC and allow at least a couple of hours for the visit. Our kids enjoyed seeing the native sports and hearing the storytelling. There are free shuttles to the museum.

The Alaskan Heritage Cultural center a must! Anyone that likes history and anthropology will truly enjoy! From the clothes to the performances displaying the strength of the community.

Enjoyable experience
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our two guides were very informative and able to answer all questions. We were a little late in arriving but what we saw of the music demo was enjoyable.

Outstanding Do-Not-Miss Museum in Anchorage
Best experience ever! WOW! Was there with my 13-yr old grandson and we stayed for HOURS! It is very engaging, quite fascinating and educational/informative on so many levels (I never knew about the nuclear testing project) and in a fun way! Of course level 2 has to be everyone’s favorite floor. I want to return to watch more of the available videos. Being able to listen to the tribal pronunciations for Alaskan animals, plants, birds, etc. was another highlight of our visit. Worth every penny, worth every minute. Splendid museum! Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend visiting this museum if you’re looking for something to do.

Wonderful and Important Insight into Alaska's Native Culture
The villages tour was very informative and individualized by each tour operator based on their personal experiences. The gallery had beautiful displays and a heart warming short film running. The stage had many dances and instructions throughout the day. I'm very glad we made this a priority of our visit to Anchorage.
