It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience made exceptional by our guide, Andy, or "crazy" Andy, as he likes to call himself. As a matter of fact, I had just read some written material and watched movies on the Vietnam war, but what I actually experienced was goosebumps; I time-travelled to personally experience the struggle the Vietnamese resistance had to experience, by bruising my knee while crawling the tunnels and taking the first exit and also by Andy's exceptional command of Vietnamese history and his fluency in English. We were fortunate that although rains were forecasted and the sky was overcast, we only had light drizzles in the Cu Chi caves and a clear afternoon for the Mekong Delta trip. The day being a Friday, the Caves were crowded with many visitors which made the setting was very festive. The anchor that kept us engaged throughout the trip was Andy, and also the easy friendship amongst the fellow group members as we were of the same ethnicity but from different countries. The Vietnam Tour Group had priced the tour very competitively and the length of the trip was just optimal, the only things left to do for the day was dinner and crash. Special shoutout to Andy for his taking care of my knee bruises and allowing me on the trip despite being late for pickup.

Around midday, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch before heading to My Tho, a charming province in the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, board a boat to cruise along the Mekong River, exploring the famous “Four Animal Islands”—Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Turtle. Along the way, observe the daily lives of locals living by the riverside. Next, venture into smaller canals to discover lush fruit orchards, coconut groves, and bee farms. Ho chi mi city trip
