Acatenango Volcano Overnight Tour

Great tour, exceeded my expectations.

I had a great time with ox expeditions. They started out with a pre trip meeting that really helped me feel organised and prepared for the trip. They took great care of everyone in the group the whole time. My favourite part about the trip was tht they leave earlier than all the other groups for both the hike itself and the optional feugo hike. This meant we were alone on the mountain and it didnt get stuck in traffic jams. Overall 10/10 experience!

Taking the tour with OX Expeditions was one of the best things. Before climbing the Volcano they took us to have breakfast at a very nice place. During the tour we were accompanied by Henry and 2 other guides who were attentive to the group at all times. From the basecamp we had a beautiful view of the Fuego Volcano. The meals during the excursion were also delicious. The agency offers the necessary equipment so that you can climb and enjoy the tour. OX Expeditions is totally recommended if you are planning to climb the Acatenango Volcano.

Climbing Acatenango was one of the best experiences I've ever had. It was physically challenging, but seeing Volcán de Fuego erupt so close made every step worth it. Watching the sunset, the eruptions at night, and the sunrise from the summit was unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone visiting Guatemala. 🌋❤️

My hike to Acatenango and Volcán de Fuego was one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had. Watching Fuego erupt throughout the night was absolutely incredible, and seeing the sunrise above the clouds from Acatenango was simply breathtaking. The hike is definitely challenging, but every step is worth it. The views, the atmosphere, and the chance to witness an active volcano so closely make this a truly unique adventure. If you're visiting Guatemala and enjoy hiking, this is an experience you shouldn't miss. Highly recommended!

It was an unforgettable experience, unforgettable in several ways, I suffered a lot climbing Acatenango and Fuego, but the views made up for everything. Go prepared with enough water, I drank 4 liters, snacks, sunscreen, and a hat. July nights are very cold, it is good to prepare with thermal clothing.

We had a fantastic trip with Axel. All the guides were fantastic to make sure everyone was ok with pace and rest breaks. We had a storm on our night up there and Axel was super positive and encouraging despite the weather difficulties. The food was good and tasty. The gear supplied was warm and ideal for the overnight. OX stored our luggage for us and kept it on the day we returned to Antiqua for us also until our shuttle time. Axel thank you for everything. Thank you OX!

It was a fantastic tour - OX was a very well organised tour company and the whole trip was extremely well run. Our main Guide Axel did a great job by giving us loads of information throughout and keeping the tour group motivated and understanding what was coming up on a challenging hike. The group size is quite large compared to other tour groups but this wasnt a problem as we had a main guide and 3 local guides throughout who were all very helpful. All in all a great trip.

The experience was as expected. The pre meeting was too long, and they can do that on the internet instead. First breakfast is not necessary. The meeting time should be later. Overall, they treated the group well.
