A Perfect Night in Florence
This was honestly one of the highlights of our time in Florence.
There were 13 of us in the class, including my wife and me, and Gustavo, our chef and instructor, was fantastic. He was patient, funny, and made everything easy to understand. He demonstrated what we needed to do and explained each step, but we actually did the cooking ourselves.
We made a spinach flan, fresh pasta and filling for potato and basil ravioli, fresh tomato sauce for the ravioli, a chicken dish, and panna cotta for dessert. I had let them know when booking that I am pescatarian, and they had an alternative prepared for me, which I really appreciated.
After we finished cooking, we went downstairs to a beautiful stone and brick cellar where everyone sat together at one long table and ate what we had made. Bottles of wine and water were brought to the table, and by then it felt less like a cooking class and more like a dinner with a bunch of people you’d just met. We had couples from Switzerland, Brazil, Wisconsin and other places, and everyone talked and laughed over dinner.
The directions to the school were easy to follow, everything was well organized, and afterward they gave us the recipes for everything we had prepared.
And then there was the walk home. My wife and I crossed the Arno on a beautiful moonlit Florence night after spending the evening cooking, drinking wine and having dinner with people from around the world. Pretty hard to beat that.
I really don’t think I would change a thing.

Wonderful family experience!!! My 11 year old said it was the best meal of our entire trip!!
Location was great, teacher was friendly and fun!
Together with 2 other people, our family made an appetizer with eggplant, tomato, and mozz; ravioli with red sauce and ravioli with a sage butter; chicken; and finally tiramisu

Best Thing We Did in Italy
My wife and I took a private cooking class with Chef Fabrizio. It was our favorite thing we did on our honeymoon!
Chef Fabrizio is a fantastic instructor. He is hilarious! He taught us quite a bit about making pasta which will be quite helpful once we get home and make it ourselves. He was also very patient with our mistakes too. Mama mia!
After the cooking class is over, you go down into the cellar below their kitchen and enjoy a private meal of the food you cooked. It was so much food! And extremely delicious as well.
When we come back to Florence we will be sure to do it again.
Operator response

Excellent take in!
The class was a wonderful take in with my husband and 8 other folks who mostly spoke English. Gustavo was fluent, funny, hard working- organized and kept us engaged and laughing through the class and dinner. He also made sure our 4 delicious courses can out right!
