The guided tour led by Shree, a PhD student, was very interesting. It was especially valuable because she also shared her own experience as a student and was able to answer all our questions about the history of Oxford University and the way of life of Oxford community. The only downside of the tour, was that despite the tour description, a visit to the Bodleian Library was not included! This was the only thing made us slightly disappointed!
Sam Day was our fabulous Oxford alumni guide. He shared so many interesting things about the university and history and the buildings and life of a student. He is so smart and fun! Our group size was fine and the amount of walking was ok. We had a bathroom break. Meeting place was clear. Highly recommend!
Sam (Day) was fabulous, recalling stories about Oxford University and Brasenose, being the college he attended throughout the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and the manner in which he interacted with our group all added to our enjoyment of the afternoon.
Ryan was absolutely brilliant - knowledgeable, loud, clear and animated. Don’t be put off by two hours of walking. There are many stops in total about 3,000 and plenty of stops to sit down. Fabulous value forMoney as entrance to two buildings included. We couldn’t get tickets to the bodlian library but they were included on this tour. Ryan was really thoughtful- it was a hot day and wherever we stopped he made sure we had shade. 5 Stars to “Ryan the Townie” who really knows his stuff *****
George was the guide, who was informative and very personable. The tour was obviously well planned and reflective of the guide’s time spent at university. A highlight of the visit.
We had the best guide Charlotte , She knew so much and told us so many intersting things on the side . She made our trip definitely worth it !
If you are someone who already knows their way around Oxford’s rich history—or if you simply want a deep, authentic dive past the standard tourist script—taking a walking tour with Patrick is an absolute must. This tour delivered an intellectual and deeply personal exploration of the university. Patrick's profound grasp of Oxford’s history was matched only by his own lived experiences as a student within its walls. For history and education enthusiasts, or curious travelers this tour is exceptional. By grounding grand historical narratives in the reality of everyday student life, Patrick delivered an experience that was both intellectually satisfying and genuinely entertaining. Rating: 5/5 Stars
The tour with Elliott was great. You can tell that he studies at the university or in one of the colleges. At the same time, he really has extensive knowledge. Because of his calm and clear pronunciation, we had no problems understanding him. He answered questions and also mentioned fun facts. We enjoyed the tour very much and can especially recommend it. Highly recommend Elliott. Small note. When you are at the meeting point, go into the tourist information and show your voucher at the counter. Here you get a tour wristband and they tell you exactly where you have to wait. Feel free to plan for 10-15 minutes, in case other customers still want to pay at the counter in the shop.
Excellent guide - both knowledgeable and personable!
A wonderful experience with a great atmosphere. The guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and thoughtful, offering fascinating insights from the perspective of an Oxford alumnus. It's an excellent way to see the main attractions in a short time while gaining a deeper understanding of the city's history and university life. Matteo, Italian tourist
