3-Day Danakil Depression & Erta Ale Volcano Tour

I hired them for a trip to Danakil and the volcano and on the last day they told me they couldnt continue because another group had arrived... THEY LEFT ME ALONE IN A RANDOM VILLAGE WITH NO ELECTRCITY TO FEND FOR MYSELF!! I had to hitchhike to Mekele and they offered NO HELP! I can't believe it. Truly dangerous, inconsiderate, and almost worth getting the police involved for such tourist neglect. Run away from this company immediately. Thankfully i paid with paypal and was able to get my money back

The Chef Hadgu who made amazing food, the great Driver Dani and Mulu who we spent a lot of fun time with them singing and driving

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better team. I was incredibly well taken care of by three wonderful people who truly made this experience unforgettable. Aman, our guide, deserves a special mention. He was extremely knowledgeable, clear in his explanations, and clearly passionate about what he does. We shared so many laughs and great moments together. I absolutely loved having him as our guide! Hadgu, our chef, was simply fantastic! I’m usually quite nervous about eating abroad, but with him, I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Everything was delicious, and the breakfasts were especially amazing. To be honest, every evening I found myself wondering what he was going to cook the next day — I was always curious and excited to find out! And finally, Abiti, our driver. What a great driver! Even the African massage roads felt like a smooth ride with him, haha! 😄 His driving was excellent — very safe, smooth, and comfortable. We always felt completely safe with him, and his driving was so peaceful that I could even sleep comfortably during the journeys. Congratulations to all three of them! They were professional, kind, funny, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. I’m truly grateful for everything they did and will remember this experience for a long time. ❤️

As the title suggests, I participated in the Danakil Tour, which is said to be the harshest tour in the world. The reason it is said that way is because you climb a scorching volcano and see a lava lake. However, that was not possible on this tour. I want to try it when I can see it again. The doral included in this tour was very beautiful. I was very moved, it felt like I had come to another world. The company owner, Bisrat, is very kind. It might be good to ask him about Ethiopia.

We had an amazing time in Danakil Depression : the sceneries are breathtaking, the guide (Aman) was super knowledgeable, the driver (Shegit) so funny. We went early Septembre where températures are extremely hot and a bit tough but we definitely don't regret it, we feel it was part of the experience. Having the trip with Semera pick up and drop of was demanding. The trip to Danakil is long and a large portion of it is off road. Our guide Aman was amazing, he is super knowledgeable on the area and kept us informed throughout the trip. Our driver Shegit is absolutely professional and made us feel safe through the journey. The campsite was absolutely basic and you need to prepared to sleep outside with the desert wind. Visiting the salt flats and Danakil depression was a really unique experience.

The Danakil Depression is unique and it is very worth visiting once in a lifetime. The team we went with was excellent. Both the guide Aman, as well as the driver and the chef, Dani and Awet. You have to know that the conditions of the place are VERY basic, both the sleeping options and the hygiene. The food is basic, acceptable. It is a very remote place without access to electricity or drinking water, where everything is difficult. You have to think about stepping out of your comfort zone for a couple of nights. You will sleep on a mattress in the open air, under a starry sky that you will never forget. We had some logistical problems with the company, but everything was finally resolved and they respected what was agreed upon when hiring. Make sure to ask about all the details of the itinerary and what your tour includes (as with everything in Africa haha)
