2-Day Outlander Experience Small Group Tour from Edinburgh

We went on the Outlander tour and had an absolutely brilliant time. You honestly couldn't ask for a better tour guide than Stewart he really made the whole experience for us. His knowledge of Scotland is genuinely encyclopaedic, and he somehow made every road, every village and every place we passed interesting. Even when we got stuck in traffic, it didn't matter Stewart would have a brilliant story about exactly where we were, and the time would pass in no time. His passion for Scotland really comes across, and he turned what was already a great tour into something we’ll remember for a very long time. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Highland Experience Tours to anyone. It's far more than just a sightseeing trip it's an experience you'll remember forever. And if you’re lucky enough to get Stewart as your guide, you're in for an amazing tour.

We did the 2 Day Outlander tour. This tour was amazing , love the small group size. I would give our driver Kenny 10 STARS+ he made the tour with his history, humor and personalization. I would highly recommend this tour!!!!! Most of the admission frees were included. We were short on time the first day as 2 people were over a hlaf hour late. PEOPLE be on time

You will hit many Outlander filming locations on this tour as well as learning a lot of Scottish History and Culture. Ample time is given at each stop for exploring, taking pictures, grabbing a bite to eat and a bathroom break. The towns you go to are all lovely as well as the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking highlands throughout the tour. Our Tour Guide, Kenny Kirk, was very friendly and informative throughout - he ensured that each of us enjoyed the experience. I, particularly, enjoyed his music playlists - it helped enhance my tour experience (as well as the Irn Bru)!

Craig was absolutely incredible! He is the nicest person and very funny! Honestly one of the biggest highlights of our two week trip through the UK and Norway was this two day tour through the Scottish Highlands. If you’re debating taking this, let this be your sign to book it and have an incredible experience through the Highlands! They really make sure your experience is efficient, comfortable, and one to remember!

Fantastic 2 day tour, our guide Kenny was exceptional, very knowledgeable about both Scottish History and Outlander. We were able to see additional places of interest and Kenny also pointed out other significant Scottish landmarks etc along the way. The B&B accommodation was spot on, breakfast was delicious and the owner John very accommodating. I highly recommend this tour, if you are fortunate enough to get Kenny then expect great chat, loads of laughs and some very special music along the way.

We had an absolutely fantastic two days exploring the Scottish Highlands with our tour guide, Kenny. He was incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely humorous, and made the entire experience so enjoyable from start to finish. Kenny’s local insight into Scottish culture, music and history really brought the Highlands to life. His stories and knowledge gave us a much deeper appreciation for the places we visited, while his great sense of humour kept us laughing throughout the day. He was friendly, engaging and clearly passionate about sharing Scotland with visitors. It felt like we weren’t just being shown the sights — we were getting a real taste of Scotland from someone who knows and loves the area. Kenny was an absolute highlight of our trip, and we couldn’t recommend him highly enough! If you’re looking for a Highlands tour filled with history, culture, beautiful scenery and plenty of laughs, ask for Kenny — you won’t be disappointed!

Just home from a wonderful two day Outlander tour with Highland Experience Tours. I wasn't sure how we'd be able to fit everything on the itinerary in, but we did, and some! We were well looked after by our guide/driver, Craig, who clearly enjoys meeting new people and showing them the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. He really made the trip for us, sharing interesting anecdotes and local history with a twinkle in his eye and a sprinkle of humour, but also knowing when to allow us to just sit back and let the breathtaking surroundings speak for themselves. We felt very safe in his hands as he navigated the winding roads of Scotland. After a jam packed day one, "Castles, Highland Landscapes and Loch Ness", with an impromptu stop to meet some Highland Coos, we were dropped at our Inverness home for the night, Oakvilla Guest House, where we were warmly welcomed by owners Elizabeth and Douglas. A wee stroll around Inverness and an evening meal, with a chance to reflect on the day. A highlight for me was getting to see Midhope Castle, aka "Lallybroch", which had been on my bucket list for a while! Day two, "Standing stones, battlefields and Outlander villages" got off to a great start, with a fabulous Scottish breakfast, home cooked by Elizabeth. My sister and I had great fun at our first stop, Clava Cairns, where we were desperately trying all of the stones for their time travel potential, but alas, we stayed in 2026! Another highlight for me from day 2 was the visit to picturesque Falkland, where we saw some more recognisable spots from the show. Some feedback for the tour organisers, many of us would have preferred less time at the Scotland Folk Museum (which is lovely!) and more time at the last stop of the trip, Culross, as sadly we arrived just too late to go inside Culross Palace, where we could have seen some more Outlander filming sites. It felt like we had longer than we needed at the Folk Museum and cutting that short a bit might have meant fitting in a bit more at Culross - something to consider for future tours maybe? That being said, we still had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days, which left us planning our next trip. It's hard to pick a favourite part of the 2 days, as I enjoyed each and every stop for different reasons, and would highly recommend it to folks who enjoy the show, and even if you've never seen Outlander, you'll still get to enjoy the breathtaking views! With only a few more episodes of Outlander, dinnae fash Sassenach, what if your future, was the past? Je suis prest!

Very well organized to the smallest detail. Beautiful landscape the highlands are magnificent. The Outlander filming locations do not disappoint, you are transported indeed in the 1700s. The last stop of the tour, the second day, we arrived too late, the last entrance to Curloss palace is at 16:00 and the palace is where most of interiors were filmed. This could be improved otherwise everything was perfect. A big thank you to our driver/guide Craig for the devotion and helpfulness

This trip was a prefect mix of outlander and Scottish history ! The tour guide / driver Jamie was awesome guy , he was very polite and funny . He was very easy to chat to and did small detours to the itinerary to give us a better experience , I couldn’t want more !! We will travel with this company again
