Lizandro is such a knowledgeable guide! He knows so much history and information of all the locations we traveled through on our way to Machu Picchu. We definitely felt so safe with him as well!

As one of 9 hikers on a supported 7 day Salkantay trail and Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, I was amazed with the excellent preparation of the guide, Lizandro, and his team. We were well taken care of on the challenging trail, provided with a wide range of local food for our meals, our tents were setup when we reached camp, and always monitored for safety. All of us were in good hands and had an experience of a lifetime

Our trip to MachuPicchu was wonderful, thanks to our amazing guide, Lizandro. The hike was strenuous, I’m not going to lie. But he was immensely patient with all of us, taking frequent stops and waiting behind for anyone who needed it. He was fully prepared with medical equipment and horses to carry people who were too exhausted to continue. He was very informative, entertaining, and kind with everyone. The trip was a huge success. I highly recommend it to anyone with hiking experience and reasonable stamina. Just prepare for the altitude, MachuPicchu really takes your breath away!

An Unforgettable Five Star Experience with Panaka Expeditions! Our trip with Panaka Expeditions was truly exceptional from beginning to end. When the Classic Inca Trail unexpectedly closed, they quickly created an incredible alternative itinerary—and what could have been a major disappointment became one of the highlights of our entire trip to Peru. We started our hike at Soraypampa, crossed the spectacular Irayaska Pass, experienced part of the Salkantay Trail, and continued toward the Inca Canal. The scenery was breathtaking, the hiking was challenging and rewarding, and the entire experience was beautifully organized. But Panaka did much more than arrange our trek. They coordinated our tours throughout Cusco, as well as our visits to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. Every detail was handled professionally, and we always felt that we were in excellent hands. What impressed us most was their ability to adapt when circumstances changed. Instead of simply telling us what we could no longer do, they found a way to give us an experience that was every bit as memorable—and perhaps even more unique. Peru is extraordinary, but the people who guide you through it can make all the difference. Panaka Expeditions certainly did that for us.
