Hands down....a great experience. Elena and Jonathan were well informed, a lot of great advice for the rest of my trip and so funny and easygoing. The food choices as well were delicious. 5 star experience.

This was an incredible experience! I am so thankful that they did the tour, even though we were such a small group. The history, the culture, the people all the things encountered throughout. This tour was truly amazing. There was also so much food and tastings I was so incredibly full by the end of it. I will definitely come back to Panama and book this tour just to see Elena and Jonathan. The tour also help me become more familiar with the area I was staying in and the places and recommendations to eat are top-notch. I was able to explore and eat at many of the recommendations they give at the end of the tour and overall this is just incredible! Thank you so much!

This was an experience!! I lost track of the amount of tastings and I was so full by the end. The value of this was worth every dollar. I had a small group of 3 participants and they were gracious enough to do the tour and it was incredible! The food, the culture, the history, the city! Elena, Jonathan and Isaac were amazing to walk around with. The recommendations they have are spot on! You will learn so much doing this tour while also eating so much! The tour was about a half day but that’s because it felt more like hanging out with friends and just enjoying the awesome day! I am soooo thankful I did this and did it early in my visit to Panama! With what I learned and all the hidden gems the rest of my trip will save me money while also eating at some amazing places! Thank you!

Absolutely AMAZING — one of the highlights of our trip to Panama! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was so much more than a food tour—it was an authentic, personal look at Panama, its people, its culture, and of course, its incredible food! The husband-and-wife team who run the tour are wonderful. They were joined by four assistants (their “entourage” 😊), and together they took care of absolutely everything. Umbrellas, hand sanitizer, utensils, napkins—you name it, they had it. We never had to think about a thing. The food selections were fantastic, and every stop was delicious. But what made this experience truly special was the opportunity to see a side of Panama that most tourists don’t get to see. They took us into the “hood” where they grew up, introduced us to their community, and gave us a glimpse into the humble, everyday lives of real Panamanians. Their love for their community was incredibly obvious. They are passionate about preserving the neighborhood they grew up in and protecting it from gentrification, and you can genuinely feel how much they care about the people there. We left with full stomachs, a much deeper appreciation for Panama, and two people we felt lucky to have met. ❤️ If you want a food tour that is authentic, personal, fun, and gives you a real connection to Panama and its people, DO THIS TOUR! We absolutely loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat! 🇵🇦❤️

This was an incredible tour! Guides were very informative & passionate! Top notch operation I left stuffed and well informed of local Panama food and neighborhoods. They thought of everything…umbrellas, water, drinks, hand sanitizer, and a large staff that made navigating the streets a breeze! Great food tour!!!!!

I’ve been working in Panama all summer and this is hands down the best way to experience the food, culture, and history of the real Panama City! The guides are knowledgeable and it’s remarkably clear just how much they care about their community. Worth every penny and more. Your trip won’t be complete without it!

Confusingly, I got a message asking me to cancel (on my end) a few days before the tour because reportedly not enough people had signed up. Because there wasn't another date available that I could go, I didn't cancel and hoped things would change. I got no updates. I ended up reaching out via Whatsapp to the tour group the night before the tour, and they told me it was canceled and that I should seek a refund from Tripadvisor. Then, several hours later, they told me the tour was actually going to happen and I could attend if I wanted. This was weird and confusing to me, especially because on the day of the tour, there were about 16 people (from different places, who clearly did not book all together as a group), so I don't know what the threatened cancellation was about. On the day of the tour, they asked us to arrive 15-30 minutes early. I did so, and there really didn't seem to be a point to this. It didn't take very long to get headsets and confirm allergies, and while everyone was present and on time, they still started the tour over 15 minutes late. It was very hot, and we were just standing in the sun during this time. Still, despite the rocky start, the tour was thorough and unbelievably long. It was almost 5 hours of eating, with all the locations relatively close together. Some of the food was amazing, and some of it was okay. I would highly recommend that if you don't like something, just don't finish it, because there's lots more food coming. They do try to sell you things along the way (honey, hot sauce), but they also offer free water, bathroom breaks, refills of juice / alcohol. They were very kind about my toddler who came along. I do think their price is extremely high (even worse here on Tripadvisor at $95 than it is when you go through their website, which is $75), and I wish I had been allowed to just share my bites/tastes with my kiddo rather than paying a separate child fee ($35, directly to them at the time of meeting up). I will note that they make some disparaging comments about substance abuse and gentrification, while, ironically, talking frequently about how they own multiple Airbnb properties in the area that they rent out to tourists. So overall, while there was lots of good food, it is also expensive and a huge time investment. If you don't have a lot of time in Panama City, I would skip this because you'll lose so many hours that you could spend seeing more of the city.

The Paradox Experience Tour food tour was absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it enough. My biggest advice — make this the FIRST thing you do when you arrive in Casco Viejo. I made the mistake of doing it 3-4 days after arriving, and during those first few days I was spending $15-20+ every single meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The moment I completed the food tour, everything changed. My food costs immediately dropped to under $5 per meal — breakfast, lunch, dinner, all under $5. That's more than half in savings on every single meal. Yes, the tour costs around $80, but you will earn that back almost immediately just by knowing where the locals eat and how to navigate food in Casco Viejo. The value is unmatched. Do not wait like I did — book The Paradox Experience Tour on day one. It will completely transform your experience and your budget in Panama.

Run don’t walk to this experience! It could not have been more organized. They thought of every single detail from eating utensils to big and little fans. The knowledge and passion was felt from beginning to end! We ate fantastic food from super clean food purveyors. They feed you until you burst… the “sample sizes” were huge and delicious. Thank you to Elena and Johnathon and of course to there amazing crew of Arron and Isaac (they were rockstars also). Continued success to this fantastic tour group!

Elena and friends were AMAZING. Best food tour I have ever been on! So fun and very organized and I love how they take you to paths less taken and let you meet local cooks. Incredible experience I can’t recommend highly enough!
