We arrived an hour before our time. We were able to go onto the church before. It was another spectacular cathedral. I expected to be on a group and that our time in the tower would be monitored. No. We lined up at the base of the tower 5 minutes before our time and up we went. We stayed up as long as we wanted and came down when the tower was closing. Go around the tower at the lower floor to get views of the city and the mountains. When you get to the top, position yourself to see the sunset. Those spots are snapped up first. The climb up the tower is not physically demanding, but the stairs are uneven and you should take care. If you are afraid of heights, you may want to skip this. The top floor is narrow and there a steps all around it. Plus it is leaning, so you can feel uneasy. The only negative is the viator ticket kept disappearing from my android phone. I sent it to my partner and her iPhone worked well.

Power hungry little security guard wouldn’t allow a purse up the tower…put passports and $ in your janke locker, no thanks…maybe recommend leaving one person back. Luckily wife and I had already done it

Whilst experience is short, it is certainly worth the climb. As my partners said, it is the 1st time he needed sea legs on dry land without a couple of drinks inside him. As the steps are marble and worned in places, you certainly need to wear good grip shoes.

Save the outrageous markup and confusion and go to the official website for the Tower and grounds. Doumo is free already and the Tower tickets onsite were half this vendor’s price. Do park at the enclosed lot called Tower parking. Safe and secure parking, easy short walk to the sites.

Booked my sunset tour. Arrived right on time and was told I was too late and I need to have a print out in hand. Perhaps this is not a Viator issue and had everything to do with the ticket checkers/security/ fun killers. Wasted $100 and for the 3rd time in my life I did not get to go inside the leaning tower of Pisa. Perhaps when I do end up going one day it will fall over wit me in it ;)

If you want to climb the tower, this was the easiest way to book and guarantee entry. We were a bit late but the staff was great and just booked us in a 15 minute slot.
