We booked the meditation session with Kaiji and he invited us to attend the prayer prior to this. As he said himself this will be the only time at this moment that you will prayer and meditate with a Buddhist monk in a Buddhist temple. IT was so special- it gave us an insight into the teachings and techniques to try to centre yourself. We loved it and it inspired us to weave meditation into our daily life
Very pedagogical and definitely worth attending the morning prayer before meditation. The leader was very good and contributed to it being such a memorable experience for us.
Thank you for joining our meditation session at Takayama Zenkoji! We’re so happy to hear you had a peaceful, grounding time, and we hope the quiet moments here added something meaningful to your journey in Japan. If you visit Takayama again, we’d be delighted to welcome you back.
