This day tour is highly recommended! The combination of Takayama and Shirakawa-go was great. We learned a lot about the history and culture of this region and of Japan. Harry is an enthusiastic guide with a lot of know-how. In addition, Harry gave us practical tips about street food, good souvenir shops, and interesting places for the rest of our trip. We went on a tour of Takayama and shirakawago with our tour guide Harry. While the tour itself and the sites were wonderful, Harry is what made this trip one to remember. He was so knowledgeable about every place we visited and he even listened to our interests and future stops on our Japan trip and wrote hand written recommendations for the rest of our journey. Highly recommend this trip for the sights, but it’s a a must go for the tour guide too.
Harry, our guide, has a wealth of knowledge to share about Takayama and Shirawago. He was pleasant, friendly and professional. He told us about the best places to eat and shop. I would definitely recommend that you book this tour.

Harry led our guided tour of Takayama and Shirakawa-go, and he made the day. His knowledge of the local history was excellent. He brought both towns to life with context you’d never get on your own. He was friendly and chatty throughout, patiently offered to take photos for us at every stop, and pointed us toward good souvenir shops and great places to eat. He was also happy to answer all our questions along the way. Highly recommend this tour!!
