Our tour guide was excellent, clearly very passionate about art, history and the stories art can tell us about both the past and present. The meeting point was straightforward enough, but very impersonal. We were literally a number on the list & the greeter couldn’t have cared less😂. Once into the museum, it was clear the guide was well worth the money. We went super early, which meant we got there before the crowds and got a good amount of time to explore in relative peace. Great as a family experience, we had our 7 year old daughter with us who loved the ear piece so she could listen and meant she felt involved. The guide included her in his presentation and made sure she understood, which was really kind. Would recommend, if money allows.
Enjoyed the works of art and of course David. Gayla was amazing! Understandable English. Very informative and witty. We enjoyed her.
Guide was knowledgeable about the myth of Michelangelo, not based in fact. Statements he perpetually said throughout the tour were false (I.e. Michelangelo only working alone and firing ALL his assistants at the Sistine chapel — which is false).
Gayla , out tour guide lady , was very knowledgeable. You may consider it’s a crowded area and lots of tours going on is small gallery. You need to pay attention to hear your guide through ear phone and her Italian accent needs more attention to understand her …
Gayla was a great tour guide! She was very knowledgable and was fun to be with. We learned a lot about David and other paintings! It was a fun experience and not too long. My 16 year old son enjoyed it as well. I highly recommend it!
Picking up the tickets was problematic. The whole voucher system needs to be improved. Then when we went to enter we had to show proof of age for the one 16 year old. We did not have a passport or driving licence . Our granddaughter wanted me to say it didn’t matter rather than me insisting we had bought all tickets and that is why we had the voucher. The visit was saved by the quality of the guide, who was excellent. His name was Alfonso.
Rosa was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable and kind and was careful To engage my children. She gave us fascinating little facts about the David that helped bring the statue to life.
This was a really great experience. Safe provided history and context for the Statue of David. He was very informative and thorough.
