Mikel Larrañaga was fabulous. I'm not sure I'll ever make pintxos again, but I really enjoyed this class. Mikel made it so much fun. The others in the class were enjoyable and the facility was perfect. I highly recommend this.

We took the pintxos course with friends, and it was a great addition to our Bilbao trip. Chef Mikel kept the class fun but also informative. Everyone got to participate, but Mikel made sure our efforts ended in delicious success. I felt the experience was a good value for the price and would recommend this class.

What an amazing experience from start to finish. Mikel was brilliant and made everyone feel at ease. Anyone with a love for cooking and visiting Bilbao should try this, it’s excellent value too.

This was a terrific class! We learned so much - from the origins of many Basque dishes to ways in which we can cook better at home. Best of all - at the end we enjoyed an amazing meal that we helped prepare! Along thr way, Mikel entertained us with his own personal stories of the restaurant industry, which was fascinating and inspirational. He’s an engaging teacher and clearly an excellent chef!

Great experience, great encounters & good food. Small things as feedback for the organizers: Besides wine, it would also be nice if all guests had water available at all times. There could be more wine - perhaps also more variety? Food waste is enormous - not only that we as a group could never eat / wanted to eat everything we prepared - also during the cooking, an immense amount was thrown away - not contemporary. The stories & instructions from our chef were great - in between, however, it also just dragged on unnecessarily, simply because he was telling stories. Furthermore: Pride in the Basque Country is cool - but that doesn't mean everything else is simply "not as good." This is high-level critical feedback - I would take the course again anytime! Thanks

I did not know what to expect coming into the class. Gastronomia's main restaurant area and attached market are excellent and inviting on their own. The cooking class took place in a dedicated, large, bright, fully equipped kitchen with stations to accommodate all of the students. Mika was a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly skilled teacher and Maria did a great job keeping the space clean and inviting. The hands on nature of the class was great fun and the recipes and resulting food were delicious--a step above most of the pinxtos we had encountered at cafes and bars to date. I definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to get up close and personal with these traditional Basque foods.
