Driver/guide Matt from Hilltop Treks was very knowledgeable. The site-specific guides and visitor center were excellent and have a lot of information. Newgrange can be viewed at a distance from there if you don't want to take their bus to Knowth & Newgrange. All of the sites visited were incredible, even Monasterboice in the rain at the end of the day - dress for the weather!

Newgrange and Knowth are awesome-inspiring monuments to a sophisticated Neolithic society. Tickets must be arranged for ahead of time. Our tour company, Hilltoptreks, made the whole trip seamless. Our wonderful driver, Richard Tynan, picked us up in the center of Dublin, and made the 1 hour trip shorter with entertaining stories about the sites we passed. Once we finished with Newgrange, we then proceeded to explore the “Palace of the Boyne”. Richard has captivating stories about two ancient monasteries, Irish crosses, the Great Famine and the seminal Battle of the Boyne. Thanks for a terrific visit to the cradle of Irish civilization.

Our driver/tour guide Matt was very informative and funny. He explained what we had to do to be prepared for an awesome experience. He gave us a history lesson on ancient Ireland 🇮🇪.

The tour was fabulous and our guide Kevin was fun and knowledgeable. This tour requires walking including walking on uneven surfaces, stairs, and climbing in and out of the bus and the narrow tomb passageway. Wear comfortable clothes and hiking shoes or similar. Bring a rain jacket. There is time for lunch at the visitor center mid-tour, and the driver makes a stop at the service station on the way back to Dublin. Not only does the tour bring you to the Neolithic sites, but to the ruins of an ancient abbey and a fascinating cemetery with many tall stone crosses and 30m high stone tower. I would take this tour again. It was very insightful and the history of it all is fascinating!

I took the day tour of Newgrange, Knowth, and Monasterboice, and highly recommend it. Our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable about the sites and has been doing these tour for 10+ years. He described the history and significance of the locations we went to and answered our questions, while doing so in an engaging and fun way. It was like listening to a great storyteller. All 3 locations were very worthwhile, and we had time for lunch at the visitor center. I would definitely book a tour with Hilltop Treks again!

Very efficient small group tour to Newgrange. We went to Knowth too, a great surprise, then Monasterboice. Driver/guide was knowledgeable and explained everything well. A great day! So much less than private guide and tickets included!

Had Matt as our tour guide and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and funny. The trip itself was great! Everything I saw was amazing! Highly recommend.

Matt was a fantastic guide! Unbelievably knowledgeable and that made a huge difference! We ended up going to both Newgrange and Knowth. Looking at the other tours, I thought I was gonna have to choose so this was a huge bonus… and we learned all about the battle of boyne and the Monastery was surprisingly interesting. Make sure you bring some warm clothes, Knowth gets very windy.

It was eye opening. We had a wonderful tour of Brú na Bóinne. Matt was knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the history come alive. I’d highly recommend this tour!
