Magnificent. City of Stradivari, the whole city is dedicated to the violin. A human-sized city, easy to walk around, especially since cars must park outside the center.

I found the visit to this museum very interesting because it explains in detail with a video how the Torrazzo was built and especially the astronomical clock. And then, in the following rooms, one can see the mechanisms of the latter, other astronomical clocks, etc. The usefulness of interspersing the various floors and thus allowing visitors to catch their breath while facing the 502 steps is truly brilliant.
I found both the video illustrating the construction of this tower and the astronomical clock, as well as the exhibition of the various types of mechanisms that make it work, interesting. The usefulness lies in the functional idea of allowing a breather from the 504 steps being climbed, interspersed with the vertical museum.
The view from the top was worth the climb up
great experience, magnificent view not excessive price wide stairs and not difficult to climb, only those leading to panoramics are more challenging excellent the fact of having themed rooms on the various floors that break the fatigue and give excellent explanations on the structure to access the panoramas, being narrower stairs, there are traffic lights to decide the flow of visitors that unfortunately not all respect creating hiccups
Cremona thieves as always. The museum is private and they do not make any kind of discount. As an art professor, I have free access to all public museums. They pass you the 10 euro ticket that also includes the diocesan museum and the baptistery, but that I did not really care. The tower is fascinating and evocative, but being the only monument of importance in the city can not be private. The view from above, however, does not give who knows what emotions. I add, I'm not even a tourist, I'm a resident of Cremona. They should review the tariff and the general relationship with the public.
It's a bit difficult to see clearly on the primates of the Torrazzo of Cremona, the tallest medieval building in Italy or something like that; for sure with its more than 100 meters and its perfectly stable and symmetrical shape it is one of the greatest symbols of the city and deserves to be included among the most iconic monuments in Italy, although in Cremona unfortunately not many are interested. The bell tower is obviously connected with the Duomo, to which it belongs, but the methods of visit are very distinct. The Duomo can be visited freely and free of charge, while the entrance to the Torrazzo is normally integrated, thanks to a ticket of 10 euros, with visits to the Baptistery and the Diocesan Museum (absolutely advisable); the whole set, with the sites at a very short distance from each other in the heart of Cremona, can be done in one morning (Duomo from the opening, at 9.00, until 10.00; then the Torrazzo, which opens precisely at 10.00, to find the freest stairs and to immediately "take off" the relative fatigue of the climb; then the rest of the morning at the Baptistery and the Museum, considering that everything closes at 13.00). The visit of the Torrazzo consists of two distinct experiences: the climb to the terraces and the view of the surroundings and the panorama and the Vertical Museum. Climbing to the top, even if the difference in height is many hundreds of steps, is not at all impossible for those with average mobility; only the last, spiral staircase, is a bit complicated to climb (so even in this sense it would be better to enter around the opening and climb as soon as possible to the top). The various terraces - including the lowest one, overlooking the Piazza del Comune and allowing you to get closer to the facade of the Duomo - offer views on an ever-changing scale of the city, its monuments and surroundings, up to the highest point from which on fine days (which, however, in the area is not exactly the norm, at least for ten months of the year) the gaze can sweep over the Po, including the confluence of the Adda, and the provinces of Piacenza and Lodi. On a dismal day in January when the fog was cut with the axe I resigned myself to giving up the privilege of being able to distinguish Meleti or Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda, but the experience remains always very suggestive. The internal museum occupies the various rooms of the tower (among other things, entering and exiting from both helps a lot to limit the already relative fatigue of the climb) and is dedicated to clocks, as one of the primates of the Torrazzo is the presence of one of the largest clocks in the world. The exhibition is interesting, to tell the truth a bit technical and if you are not into the discipline you risk not understanding much, but the various watches and machinery on display (there is also a Foucault pendulum) always have their charm.
Europe's tallest bell tower of medieval times, symbol of Cremona and example of ingenious work with exemplary architecture
Beautiful experience, interesting. It turns out a very beautiful part of Cremona. The watch is fascinating.
Absolutely to visit, even if only for the derisory cost of only € 5. The climb is challenging but just do it calmly and on arrival the 360-degree show repays your effort. Suitable for all ages and only for those suffering from dizziness the last stretch can be problematic.
