One of the best experiences I have had in Tokyo! Noriko is amazing and makes you feel very comfortable. She has great knowledge about several beautiful traditions. I loved the kimono, the tea ceremony, learning to cook and to play the koto. 10/10, I highly recommend. I would love to go again if the chance comes up!
Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I was delighted to hear that you had made your reservation four months in advance and had been looking forward to your visit for so long. I am truly pleased that the experience met your expectations and that you enjoyed it. Your deep knowledge of Japanese history and culture made your questions especially insightful, and I greatly enjoyed our conversations. You also practiced the koto with great dedication until you were able to play skillfully with both hands. Your progress was truly impressive, and you became wonderfully proficient. You were an excellent student! Thank you again for visiting. I sincerely look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future:)
My mom and I had a truly special day with Noriko. We started by wearing kimonos and taking beautiful photos, then continued with a tea ceremony where Noriko shared insightful explanations about Japanese culture. After that, we cooked okonomiyaki together, which was both fun and delicious. We ended the day listening to the delicate sounds of the koto, and even had the chance to try playing it ourselves. Beyond the rich and well-planned experience, what made it unforgettable was Noriko herself. She is kind, warm, and genuinely welcoming, opening her home and making us feel truly welcomed from the very beginning. Noriko thought of every detail, which made the entire experience exceptional. Out of everything we did in Japan, this was definitely one of the highlights. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and authentic experience.
Welcome to Japan, a country you’ve long dreamed of visiting. And thank you so much for taking the time, during your stay, to come to my home. You are truly kind, gentle, and beautiful people who show deep respect for Japanese culture. I prepared everything with great care, and it made me so happy to see you appreciate each and every detail. I’m really glad I had the chance to meet you. And thank you sincerely for writing such a wonderful review. The cherry blossoms will begin to bloom very soon, like soft whispers of spring across the country. I hope you enjoy many of the beautiful things Japan has to offer, fall even more in love with it, and come back again someday. I look forward to that day 🌸
We 2 couples had a wonderful experience with Norinco Koshida 3 weeks ago in Tokyo. Norinco made us familiar with the Japanese culture. We visited her home and experienced two hours of the beautiful cultural Tea ceremony and music. We enjoyed two wonderful days with Norinco visiting cultural sites and around Tokyo most interesting neighborhoods. We recommend Norinco not only for the tea ceremony but also as excellent guide. Jacob, thank you so much for your wonderful review! I also truly enjoyed those two special days with you. I was deeply impressed by how all four of you listened so eagerly and with such interest to my explanations about Japanese culture. You also shared your own culture with me, which broadened my knowledge. I had such a great time and would love to see the four of you again. I look forward to the day we meet next. Please stay healthy and happy:)
Noriko-san was the perfect host, introducing me to some aspects of Japanese culture I am mostly interested in as a foreigner. Starting with wearing the various layers that make up a Yukata or summer Kimono. The perfect way to know how it feels wearing a traditional japanese garment. After a photo session we went on to preparing and eat a delicious lunch followed by tea ceremony and a delightful Koto concert. All steps were hands-on, I was able to learn a lot and to ask questions. The hours just flew by... the host is very knowledgeable, graceful, patient (with all the pictures taking and questions and decisions making about which garment to choose from...), kind and fun to be with. Thank you Noriko-san for all the preparation that goes into organizing this private event at your cosy home.
What a wonderful review! Thank you so much for visiting the other day. Although I am still not very experienced with vegan cooking, I tried my best to prepare it for you, and I was truly happy that you noticed my effort and enjoyed it. You looked angelically beautiful in your yukata. You even cooked the dishes more skillfully than I did, which impressed me very much. I appreciate for spending your precious time with me. I am looking forward to seeing you again;)
This was one of our favorite things we did on our whole Japan trip. Noriko was so friendly, knowledgable, and passionate about traditional Japanese culture and helped set us up to really appreciate the details of everything we saw the rest of our time in the country. The food was amazing, the music was amazing, and we now can say we have a friend in Tokyo! Would recommend this to anyone traveling here!
Thank you so much for your such an excellent review. I wish I can join this experience as a guest as you lol. It was super nice to meet you and I truly appreciate your visit to my home. I hope we can spend fun time together again;)
For people who have visited Tokyo a lot and perhaps even for the first timers I would like to recommend visiting Noriko at her place. You book a private tea ceremony but you get a lot more. Noriko will meet you at the subway station and from there is it a short walk to her place. She introduces you to her family her husband and her wonderful daughter . Noriko speaks excellent english so there is no communication issues especially if you don’t speak any Japanese at all. The whole experience is amazing, you change into Kimono or Yukata, there is a wide variety of designs and colors , then you proceed to the kitchen where Noriko explains the history of the tea ceremony, the etiquette, and then the actual tea ceremony begins. Wonderfully prepared matcha with traditional sweets. There is some explanation of what you can and can’t do during the ceremony, how to drink and enjoy it. Noriko is a very skillful guide , everything runs very smoothly, not to mention that you get an amazing bonus of her playing Koto and traditional musical instrument. She could be a professional musician it is so impressive. We truly enjoyed everything. Tokyo has million things to offer but booking a tea ceremony with Noriko is something truly special. Needless to say we highly recommend it .
What a sweet and wonderful review !! I truly enjoyed to have you at my place. To talk with you and to share the time with you were so precious for me. Thank you so much for your choice. I know you had a lot of choices in the internet to try tea ceremony. So when I have guests to my place I always try to do my best because the guests uses limited time in Tokyo for my service. So I am very happy to read such a great complement for my service. If you have a chance please try to visit me again. Then let’s talk more deeply about Japanese culture and history. I am looking forward to seeing you again ;)
This experience was the highlight of our trip to Tokyo! Noriko was very attentive and made sure my daughter and I were fully emerged into the Japanese culture and tradition. We got to try on beautiful kimonos, learned about the tea ceremony, tried on delicious foods, desserts and tea, we learned how to play a song on a millennial instrument and also learned how to prepare some Japanese dishes. It was definitely the best 6 hours spent in Tokyo!
Thank you for your visit as your lovely daughter’s birthday present. I was so honored to be chosen as a super social event. It was so much fun to celebrate your daughter’s birthday together with you and my daughter ! We had such a great and unforgettable time together. My daughter and I are very eager to see you again. Please come back soon;)
Our visit to Noriko's house was magical. Her explanation and her performance of the tea ceremonie was so insightful, serene and harmonious. And playing the koto was a special treat. We would recommend coming to Noriko to everyone visiting Japan because she can tell you so much about how things have been done and are being done in Japan. Noriko made us feel so welcome. For instance she was waiting for us at the station in her autumn kimono with a hand written paper with our names on it. I think this was with ease one of our best experiences in our trip of 4 weeks. Arigato, love from Sonja and Alex
Wow ! Thank you so much for this sweet message for me. I never forget your sincere interest and respect to our culture. It was a great pleasure to have you in my home on the last day of your long trip in Japan. Glad I was able to provide you with a memorable evening. I wish we can meet again in the future.
Excellent introduction into Japanese kimono wear, food, music and architecture of wooden houses in the past. Noriko’s knowledge and friendly personality made the Japan at Home tour an excellent choice for your time and money!
I am glad you and your niece enjoyed my service so much. I liked to answer your lots of questions about Japan. Please visit again and let explore more deeper Japanese cultures:) You guys were very fun people!! I am looking forward to seeing you again.
Wonderful experience for anyone who wants to learn more of Japanese culture and traditions. She is a warm and engaging hostess who invites you in to her home to show you real life Japan. Her English is excellent and she is a great conversationalist. My time flew by with fun and informative conversations.
Thank you for your visit to my home! You were a wonderful guest so I enjoyed a lot to be with you. I felt your sincere interest and understanding to our culture. You said you were not good at music but you were quick learning good student. I think you can be a great master of Koto ;) I am glad you enjoyed my service a lot. I hope we can meet again in the near future!
