Fabulous day didn't watching wildlife en route from Whittier to Anchorage. Our only gripe was the pick up. I didn't get the text from the lady (phone not the best without WiFi) and therefore we didn't know to walk out of cruise terminal to meet bus. Trip Advisor could do with ensuring the tour company name is on the ticket too. But a great guide and great day
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and allowing us to share the beauty of Alaska with you. We also appreciate your feedback. We are very glad you enjoyed the tour.
This was a great way to transport from Whittier cruise port to Anchorage. Sherrye (tour van driver) kept in touch with me right up until she got to the cruise port’s parking area. It was all very easy. Sherrye’s effort in ensuring her passengers were comfortable, satisfied, and happy was so evident. She even provided us with water & snacks, and had some binoculars available for us to use! She toured us through the 1.5 mile walk to and from the Byron Glacier, took many pictures for us, and gave us all the narrative we needed! We made several other stops and saw so many beautiful sights along our journey- like turnagain arm, Earthquake Park, and the Wildlife Conservation Center where we saw a bear, a wolf, some moose and bison! She made a stop at a restaurant where we were able to sit down for about an hour for lunch. After the tour, Sherrye dropped us off at our hotel. It was a very long day, but well worth it! Sherrye is a very good tour guide! Don’t hesitate to book this transfer/tour!
Sherry was great! Weather didn’t work with us, but she pivoted and added other sight seeing opportunities.
Thank you so much for choosing our tour and taking the time to share your experience! Weather has been a little challenging for sure this month, so grateful Sherry was able to make it a good day regardless! Best, Jen
Very convenient for a post cruise activity to see all the can’t miss things between Whittier and Anchorage. We had an incredible day! Would recommend this to anyone!
Kayla, Your recommendation means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to tell everyone about the positive tour you experienced. Alaska has many incredible days. We are so happy we were able to share one of them with you.
Had a great time. Very organized and prompt. Great communication leading up to pick up. Dustin was an excellent guide!
So glad you had such a wonderful time with us. Communication is definitely one of our business cultural elements. Travel can be hard. We aim to make the days spent with Welcome Anchorage Tours predictable and easy. That is best done by constant communication. Dustin is quite the gem. His love for the state and tour industry is truly infectious. We are fortunate he picked Welcome Anchorage Tours as a vehicle to share Alaska with guests.
Great guides, with timely pickup from the port. Due to poor weather, the itinerary needed to be changed, but the company did everything they could to make it a great experience. Guides were very knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy what they did. Would book with them again, had a great time.
Michael, Your thoughtful comments mean the world to us. Thank you. Weather...grrr. Sometimes nature has their way with us and not in the positive way we would like. However, There is so much a tour company can do to make an inclement day very memorable. Flexibility is key. Our company culture promotes flexibility to offset tour issues. We look forward to hosting you on your next Alaskan adventure.
We had an incredible experience. Dustin was awesome. He went above and beyond to make sure that we had a very enjoyable excursion.
Very knowledgeable and nice guide. We stopped at several places to see lakes and eagles. The wildlife conservancy center was spectacular. Up close with moose, bears and white wolf. Nice lunch in small Alaska town. Dropped us at airport in plenty of time for flight..
This is Lora Brigham, I am the Travel Agent that booked this tour. My clients were very upset that this tour was so difficult for my limited mobility persons. They stated that they missed stops and found it very difficult to get in and out of the vehicle. Another couple was in the front row ( without mobility issues) and was not asked to move. I book this agenda very often, and will consider other options next time. Brigham.travelers@gmail.com
Lora, thank you for bringing this to us directly, and please pass along our sincere apology to your clients. A tour should feel welcoming to every guest, and it's clear this one fell short for those with limited mobility. To be upfront with anyone considering our tours: our 15-passenger vans do have a higher step than a standard vehicle. We carry a step stool on board, and when we know a guest has mobility needs in advance, we reserve front-row seating and our guides adjust stops so no one misses the experience. We stand behind every tour with an unconditional satisfaction guarantee, and we'd welcome the chance to make this right — please reach us anytime at Info@welcomeanchorage.com. We had a great time seeing glaciers and the area. The lunch restaurant had many food options and was really good food and atmosphere.
