A whisky tasting that works for beginners and enthusiasts alike
Our second experience with All Star Guides, and they’re two for two. Lydia led our whisky tasting and struck exactly the right balance: friendly, clearly knowledgeable, and completely comfortable with a group that ranged from seasoned whisky drinkers to people trying it seriously for the first time. Nobody felt talked down to and nobody felt lost.
The setting itself was relaxed and unhurried, which matters more than you’d think for a tasting. We worked through three pours chosen to highlight different whisky regions of Scotland, and the contrasts between them were genuinely striking. You come away actually understanding why region matters rather than just being told that it does.

James was knowledgeable,...
James was knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. We enjoyed our private tasting with him. We would, however, suggest that he not recommend the White Horse if he’s asked for a dinner option. We found it overpriced with small portions.

A must do experience for Whisky Tasting
Robert is a fantastic host, his knowledge of Whisky and his personality, makes the tasting experience in my opinion second to none. Our family is new to the Whisky experience but Robert made us all feel totally comfortable. This is a must do and ask for Robert to be your host……I should add the atmosphere of the tasting area in the pub is also great.
