Whale Watching Experience

Excellent experience with very knowledgeable staff. Special touches, like having an under-water microphone to hand to listen to whale song, made this outing special and memorable. The guide is also a marine biologist and she did a fantastic job of keeping everyone entertained and engaged. From on-land management to the on-sea captain and guide, everything proceeded efficiently and well-organized with safety in mind. We only wish we found them sooner :-) Would thoroughly recommend The Magic Merman - look out for the fellows in green on Kaanapali beach.

Shasta our guide was great! our captain helped put us right near a very large competition group! This large group of male whales were fighting over a female and it was a spectacular sight! Absolutely amazing! Thanks guys!! We will be back for snorkeling and hopefully weather cooperate next time! We highly recommend this tour!

Have been on several whale watches with the Magic Mermen over the past several years, and I just can't say enough positive things about them. The owners Austin and Derreck (sp? Sorry, man) Are the nicest guys and super experienced. Shasta is an amazing naturalist. Everyone makes you feel welcome and we find something exciting and have a memorable experience every time. And can't beat the convenience. If you are staying in Ka'anapali, they leave from the beach right in front of Whalers.

Super fun and exciting experience. We saw many whales and learned a lot about their behavior. We will definitely do this tour again!

went last minute to a whale watch in kaanapali . we loaded 6 at a time from one raft to the other raft then went whale watching for 2 hour . saw a lot of breaching and double breaching

Highly recommend you take a whale watch with this small company. The staff is very skilled in safety and getting less athletic folks onto and off the tender and then onto the boat. They are well educated about whales and happily answer questions. The captain maneuvers the boat so the sun is at your back for photos and comfort in viewing. You are closer to the water surface so you get a better feel of the water.

Comfortable boat. Great captain and Shasta and Kristin were great. Austin was so accommodating. They take care of all passengers. Water soft drinks. They get 5 stars❤️ Oh and we saw many whales!

Escaping the cold winter in Northern Minnesota we come to Maui for a few weeks every year. I have gone on several whale watching tours from different companies in the past. This year we did not rent a car and I discovered Magic Merman Whale Tours while walking on the Kanaapoli beach and under the green umbrella outside of Whalers Village I met business partners Austin and Derek who are very polite and friendly with safety is top priority. Magic Merman is a small outfit and in my opinion they have the top of the line and best design boat for whale viewing. They only take twenty people out at a time so people aren't in the way of others. I've been out five times already this vacation and two more scheduled for tomorrow and every day has been a amazing experience. Sometimes the whales swim right up to the boat and do a spy hop, that is sticking their head up out of the water and checking things out, whales can be curious. I have also seen a few breaches.From somebody who's done many whale watching tours I highly recommend Magic Merman Whale Tours, they also do snorkeling tours. Great outfit and first class operation. Mother and baby whales got close to the boat and because of the type of boat, you feel even closer! Crew were amazing, with much knowledge of the whales and took care of everyone on board.

Actually went on a snorkel trip after doing a whale watching trip the day before. Captain Makai and Shasta were great!
