Great experience. Unlike othet whale tours elsewhere, you will always get to see something. In the space of three hours we saw three different species, including humpback whales. This is a great value!
Good guide and we saw several small pods of whales, and some whales within 10-50 feet of the boat. It was a little discouraging at first because I was expecting more of a small boat experience and it was very crowded. But once we started seeing whales it was okay.
The trip was a huge experience, which one should not be without! We saw many whales and also larger flocks of sea parrot. The facilities and the boat were really nice - and it was quite luxury with a bar on board. But... The guide could not be called a guide. I don't know if he doesn't normally have it, or if he might have it so often that he got bored, but it was a very unsuspecting and unengaged guide. He told incredibly little about what we saw - and most of the time he was either quiet, or commented on whether you could see the tail or not at a diving. At one point, we asked him directly if he could tell us a little about the whale we looked at, and he replied: “there’s really nothing to tell.” It was incredibly disappointing. We learned more from a boat nearby where we could listen to their guide. Those who controlled the ship did not completely catch the whales in the same way as the neighboring boats, and at one point it sailed just past a whale and did not stop, even though we pointed out that there was one. It was a very cold and wet trip - so remember warm clothes, but it was all worth it because we after all saw lots of whales. The company disappointed us unfortunately. We wish we had got another guide or had chosen another company.
The overall experience was positive and the once underway it was great. The guide did a nice job explaining the whale species and what we may see. However, The instructions for checking in missed the fact the it is only a kiosk at the restaurant and no human to talk to. They need to have better instructions for folks who have to drive there for limited parking in that area and on the pier. You don’t see a crew member until you get to the boat, then it’s too late.
We enjoyed the tour very much. It is not one of the biggest boats that do whale watching in Reykjavik but that was one reason why we chose it. We got really lucky on our tour and did see several dolphins and 3 humpback whales but seeing any animals is never guaranteed. Also enjoyed the info from our spotter on tha boat very much. Learned some interesting facts.
Easy pick up of ticket, nice boat, nice staff and we were so lucky to see 4-5 different wales ————-_
Although the weather was not the best as it was a rainy day but the trip was worth it . We saw a number of whales and we were able to capture those wonderful moments. My children appreciated seeing whales in their natural habitats and the experience was surreal. The crew members were amazing . I will surely recommend the activity.
Although it was raining and cold - we did see whales and dolphins. The boat is gorgeous and we learn a lot.
excellent tour, saw humpback whales many times circling our boat
We travelled to the Amelia Rose by taxi from outside the cruise terminal, it cost 30 euros each way. The wet miserable weather did not spoil our excitement at the beautiful sight of humpback whales, minky whales and dolphins. We were just ven lucky enought to see a humpback with her calf close to the Amelia Rose. The yacht is a stunning sight to inside and out. The staff were amazing especially the young lady out doing all the spotting of the whales.
