A few weeks ago, in late July or early August, I was looking for a good activity for my vacation to Oslo. I chose the Vikings Tales, Trails and Tastes tour because it seemed like a fantastic combination of a hike and storytelling. After taking the tour, I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations. I met my tour guide, Shaf, just outside of Oslo Central Station. We then took the light rail to the closest stop to the trail that we were going to enter the forest. There is a bit of an uphill walk to the forest, but it allows one to get a look at some nice homes on the outskirts of the city. The forest is beautiful, filled with countless opportunities for photos. The forest scenery is only a part of the tour's excellence, as Shaf does a fantastic job with the tales. Admittedly, I knew many of the stories that he told regarding Norse Mythology, but he was able to provide context to the tales as it pertains to Norway and the Viking perception of their time. This was new information for me to process and I found it interesting. Shaf is very knowledgeable about the tales and the trails that he uses for the tour. In short, Vikings Tales, Trails and Tastes is a journey worth taking.
