A good family experience
We came with our young cousin (we're seniors) who lives in Victoria, and her toddler. It was a good thing to do with family after having a nice lunch at the pub at Brentwood Bay Resort. The butterflies are lovely, but it's nearly impossible to photograph them because, well, they don't hold still! And the most beautiful ones, the big blue ones, when still on a twig, close their wings so you cannot see the blue. Oh well. I kind of expected there to be more butterflies, like maybe flocks of them, and there were not, but perhaps this was the time of year. There are also glass cabinets with unusual insects, many of which look like leaves or twigs, that we very much enjoyed. The gift shop had nothing I would want but if you were looking for children's souvenirs or toys they have a pretty fair selection.

Lots of butterflies
Neat little area inside to see lots of butterflies and other wildlife. Very humid inside so be prepared with minimal layers and maybe some water. You can take breaks outside and then re-enter. There are many butterflies thou be careful of where you walk as there are butterflies and frogs on the paths. We spent over 2 hours here as we were trying to get good photos of different butterflies and get them to land on us. But you could totally spend less time here if you just did a quick walk around. It wasnt too busy, and you could generally find a place to stand by yourself. They have plenty of seats too.

Tropical Oasis for Bugs and Kids
We spent over an hour at the Butterfly Garden. Just the exhibits with leaf cutter ants and other crawly insects outside of the tropical sanctuary were incredible. There were fewer butterflies on our visit due to hatching and time of year, but the tropical garden was still fascinating. We saw moths hatching, frogs, turtles, the flamingo and iguana, plus a wild variety of plants. The kids really loved the adventure.

Decent for kids.
It’s fairly small, but for kids it’s probably quite good. There were repeat families there. If you’re an adult you could probably skip it.
