Join this easy and hassle-free tour from Florence to wander the little alleyways and float along that canals that give Venice its nickname as the Floating City.

Ponte degli Scalzi
5 min

The Ponte degli Scalzi is an elegant Istrian stone bridge spanning Venice’s Grand Canal. It connects the Santa Croce and Cannaregio districts right outside the Santa Lucia railway station, making it a striking first sight for arriving travelers. Designed by Eugenio Miozzi and completed in 1934, its clean, single-arch form replaced an older iron structure. The name, meaning "Bridge of the Barefoot Monks," honors the nearby Chiesa degli Scalzi, seamlessly blending history with daily life.

30 min

The Church of San Simeon Piccolo is an 18th-century Neoclassical landmark in Venice, standing directly across the Grand Canal from the train station. Designed by Giovanni Scalfarotto, its iconic vibrant green dome and columned porch are inspired by Rome's Pantheon. It features a vast underground crypt with historic frescoes and remains the only Venetian church that still regularly celebrates the Traditional Latin Mass, keeping centuries of history alive.

Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari
30 min

The Basilica dei Frari is a massive 14th-century Gothic masterpiece in Venice's San Polo district. Strikingly built from reddish brick, its towering campanile dominates the skyline. Inside, it forms a breathtakingly photogenic sanctuary housing monumental tombs of Venetian elites, including the sculptor Canova and painter Titian. Travelers flock here to view Titian’s iconic, luminous masterpiece, The Assumption of the Virgin, which radiates light from the high altar.

Chiesa Rettoriale di San Polo
30 min

The Chiesa di San Polo is a 9th-century church anchoring Venice’s largest public square. Rebuilt in Gothic style, its unique exterior features two rare 14th-century stone lions at the base of its bell tower—one gripping a snake, the other a human head, symbolizing betrayal. Inside, it is highly photogenic, showcasing a stunning ship’s-keel wooden ceiling and Giambattista Tiepolo’s The Stations of the Cross. It offers travelers a mesmerizing blend of medieval mystery and art.

San Silvestro
15 min

The Chiesa di San Silvestro is a hidden gem tucked away in Venice’s San Polo district near the Rialto Bridge. Originally founded in the 9th century, its current neoclassical structure dates to the 1830s. Photogenic and peaceful, the church offers travelers a quiet escape from the crowds. Inside, it boasts a majestic interior housing a rare artistic treasure: Tintoretto’s brilliant canvas, The Baptism of Christ, making it a rewarding, art-filled stop for curious explorers.

Ponte di Rialto
15 min

The Rialto Bridge is Venice’s ultimate architectural icon, gracefully arching over the Grand Canal. Completed in 1591 by Antonio da Ponte, this spectacular stone masterpiece connects the San Polo and San Marco districts. To capture a rare view of Venetian culture, one gets to witness it at dawn when the rising sun illuminates its brilliant white Istrian stone. This photogenic, bustling thoroughfare features two rows of shops, seamlessly blending historic utility with Venice’s grand, timeless atmosphere.

Mercati di Rialto
20 min

The Rialto Market is Venice’s vibrant culinary heart, feeding locals since 1097. Located steps from the Rialto Bridge, this historic market features a colorful produce section (Erberia) and a neo-Gothic fish pavilion (Pescaria). To capture a rare view of Venetian culture, one gets to witness it at dawn as fishermen unload the day's catch and vendor stalls fill with seasonal goods—offering a photogenic, sensory masterpiece where rich history perfectly blends with daily life.

Campo San Luca
10 min

Campo San Luca is a bustling, strategic square serving as the geographical heart of Venice. Linking the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square, it acts as a dynamic hub for local life. Early risers can enjoy a rare, serene glimpse of the square at daybreak before it transforms into a lively social meeting point filled with outdoor cafes. Surrounded by historic buildings, this energetic crossroads offers an authentic, photogenic look at modern Venetian commerce unfolding within a timeless setting.

20 min

Campo Manin is an elegant, historically rich square tucked away in the San Marco district. At its center stands a striking monument dedicated to Daniele Manin, the heroic leader of the 1848 Venetian insurrection against Austrian rule. Early risers can catch a serene view of the surrounding architecture, including the unique, curved facade of the Cassa di Risparmio bank. This peaceful courtyard serves as a highly photogenic passageway, quietly guiding explorers toward the hidden, spiral Scala Contarini del Bovolo nearby.

Torre dell'Orologio
15 min

A magnificent Renaissance landmark standing at the gateway to St. Mark’s Square, the tower is renowned for its striking blue-and-gold astronomical clock, zodiac details and the two bronze “Moors” that strike the hours. It is one of Venice’s most iconic architectural symbols and a spectacular introduction to the grandeur of St. Mark’s Square.

Piazza San Marco
45 min

Piazza San Marco is Venice’s grand, breathtaking centerpiece, famously called the "drawing room of Europe." This expansive square is anchored by the golden Basilica di San Marco, the historic Doge’s Palace, and the soaring Campanile. Early risers can enjoy a rare, tranquil view of the vast marble pavement reflecting the soft dawn light before the crowds arrive. Framed by majestic arches and historic cafes, this legendary piazza offers a deeply photogenic glimpse into the peak of Venetian art, power, and timeless elegance.

15 min

A visit to a glass factory offers an immersive look into a centuries-old artisanal craft right in the city center. Inside the workshop, visitors can stand beside roaring furnaces to witness master artisans transform molten sand into intricate sculptures and vibrant glassware using traditional hand-shaping tools. This experience offers a rare glimpse into fiercely guarded techniques, making it a highly photogenic highlight that brings Venice's rich artistic history to life

It was pouring rain so it is a bit hard to throughly enjoy the beauty of Venice. I would suggest headsets as it was difficult to hear as we were a group of 9

Operator response

Thank you, Sylvia — and we're sorry Venice gave you its wettest face. Even the weather is beyond us, though we'd have changed it for you if we could. Your point about headsets is a fair one and we're acting on it: audio receivers are being introduced for groups of this size, so everyone can hear the guide clearly whether it's rain, crowds or a busy campo competing for attention. Thank you for taking the time to suggest something useful. We hope you'll see Venice in the sunshine one day.

Overall a great tour. Our...

Overall a great tour. Our tour guide Barbara took us to see sites in places off the normal path. A minor issue with locating a gondolier for the gondola ride, not her fault. You will walk alot on this tour with lots of stairs.

Venice from Florence

Our guide Catherine was wonderful! Two of our foursome were older and couldn't easily keep up with a rapid walking tour, so she booked a boat to show us around Venice sites, then took us to ones we were especially interested in. It was a much better way to see more of Venice than trying to walk it around all the canals. At the end of the tour, two of us went on a gondola ride and afterwards drank wine and relaxed in a small cafe near the grand canal. A wonderful visit thanks to our flexible and thoughtful guide!

Operator response

Dear Sharon, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our service. We were thrilled to show you around and help you explore our beautiful city. We are glad you had a great time and enjoyed yourself. Hope to see you soon in Venice! Arrivederci! Team Eurolink Worldwide

Venice Personal Tour

Wonderful! We took a high speed train from Florence to Venice and were greeted by our tour guide right at the train station. I liked that! We spent the day going through the city and discovering new things with our guide. Her knowledge was amazing! We took tons of pictures, ate delicious food and gained some insider tips along the way. I would highly recommend Barbara! A true student of Venice and knows the ins and outs of the locals.
