Itinerary
Meet your tour leader at Roma Termini railway station for a hassle-free check-in. Board the high-speed train for a journey of a little over 3 hours to Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station.
Once in Venice, take a short walk from Venezia Santa Lucia railway station to the nearby vaporetto stop. Enjoy a scenic waterbus ride (one-way ticket included!), absorbing the beauty of Venice's waterways.
The place to be, St. Mark’s Square, lies at the heart of Venice. Discover the splendor of St. Mark’s Basilica's façade, delve into the network of alleys, and explore the city's iconic bridges.
A symbol of romance and history, the Bridge of Sighs connects the Doge’s Palace to the prisons. It's said that prisoners would sigh at their last glimpse of beautiful Venice through the window before facing their imprisonment, hence the evocative name. Its white limestone architecture and enclosed bridge, featuring windows with stone bars, have made it a must-visit landmark and a favorite backdrop for couples.
Venice's labyrinthine canals are the arteries of the city, bustling with gondolas and vaporettos. These waterways have served as the primary means of transport for centuries, reflecting the city's unique architectural wonders. Spanning these canals are over 400 bridges, each with its own history and design, allowing pedestrians to wander the city's winding pathways, immerse themselves in its charm, and savor its timeless beauty.
Before heading back to the train station, rendezvous with your tour leader to savor a traditional Venetian aperitivo or 'cicchetto.' Refresh and reminisce about your Venetian adventure.
Your rendezvous spot in Venice for the return journey. This station marks the transition from the serene canals of Venice to the vibrant bustle of mainland Italy.
Your final stop, marking the culmination of your Venetian adventure. From here, the eternal city of Rome spreads out, ready for your next exploration. You will get to Rome around 10:30 PM.

It was simply a great experience. The tour operator was very friendly, attentive, and caring. I will certainly recommend Viator to my friends.
Apparently this used to be a highly rated tour. However, I agree with the most recent reviews. The guide, while she was nice, only escorted us on the trains, took us to a meeting spot, and that was it until we met later to go home. She was speed walking to the spot so we missed a lot on the way. When she was asked to slow down, she said she can't walk that slow. Several fell behind as not every one was young. Not worth the price. You get the train ticket, $2 taxi ticket, one drink, one small food item at the happy hour, useless map, and headset just to board and walk to a meeting point. A map was provided but it was a copy so there was no legend with it. Can book your own excursion with the same results for a lot less. Venice, of course, was beautiful and is worth seeing. Two stars only for, yes there was a train and yes, they got us to Veice.
Dear Michele, We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We would just like to clarify one point: our colleague is not a tour guide, but a Tour Leader, whose role is to be a point of reference throughout the day, helping guests with logistics and providing support during the trip. Thank you again for your feedback — it is valuable to us and helps us keep improving our experiences. Kind regards, Gray Line I Love Rome
A wonderful experience! Our guide was very clear and kind with all the instructions and information about the city, clear and very pleasant. I truly recommend this activity 10000 times! When I return to Rome, I will not hesitate to take the activities again. Thank you so much for everything.. 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇮🇹😍
Graziella is a sweet and knowledgeable tour guide. She was also very helpful in guiding me back to the ground when I got lost. Thank you for everything graziella.
Our Venice day tour with Carrani Tours was absolutely flawless, thanks to our wonderful guide Graziella! The tour started punctually from Café Trombetta, and the high-speed train journey to Venice was smooth and comfortable. Graziella led us on a fascinating walking tour all the way to St. Mark’s Basilica, sharing the rich heritage and history of Venice at every turn — her knowledge brought the city to life! The aperitivo stop at H2NO was a delightful touch, giving us a true taste of Venetian life. Throughout the day, Graziella was sweet, attentive, and always smiling. She was unfailingly polite, kept our whole group together, and safely guided us in and out of Venice’s maze of streets and canals without a hitch, right up to the walk back to the station. She genuinely ensured everyone had a fantastic time. If you’re visiting Rome and want a perfect Venice day trip, ask for Graziella — she’s a gem! Highly recommend Carrani Tours. Five stars!
Great experience as it was our first time in Venice! Graziella was very professional, informative, and nice.
We did out tour with Carrani tours - full day trip from Rome to Venice and back . We were picked up from the pick up spot on the dot at 6.35 am. We reached Venice after a 4.5 hour journey by train. The guide Grazielia took us on a guided tour for an hour. Thereafter we took the Gandola ride and the water taxi. We did our shopping as well. We stopped at a cafe for a Happy hour. We returned to Rome by the evening train leaving at 6.25 pm. Grazielia was a friendly guide who took us around with a smiling face. We had an enjoyable tour of Venice. 😊
It is good but it is very expensive but it is worth it
It was a good day, although when we left the group, we got lost. Alessandro was in constant communication to guide us back to where we needed to be. We had a great adventure and everything worked out well.
The guide Alessendro is super friendly, knowledgable and the schedule was well-arranged. Love all the recommendations! Highly recommended!
