Venetian Carnival Mask Making Class in Venice, Italy

Great experience. If you are thinking of purchasing a mask, you are better off making one. We booked a tour and spent part of the afternoon making them. Great time and very informative.

WoW! Such a fun experience. Giorgio was kind and informative. He shared stories about the history of Carnival. Fascinating! His family has had this shop for three generations now. He added the final decorative touches to our masks to make them the perfect souvenir and keepsake of my daughter's first time visiting Venice. Highly recommend!

This was the most brilliant experience with both adults and. 12 and 13 yr old loving it. The timing was perfect with just over an hour. Painting a mask with guidance from a master was such a unique and creative experience in itself but also understanding the history of masks in Venice just completed what was undoubtedly an absolute highlight of our 10 day Italian journey

What a wonderful activity this was, a highlight from our short visit to Venice! We loved spending time in this family-run atelier surrounded by all of the beautiful-professionally made masks and learning the fascinating stories behind many of them. Painting our own masks was so much fun and they looked great! Our kids are thrilled to bring home these special souvenirs and memories and have already asked if we could go back for another visit and to paint more masks. I would not hesitate to book this again, thank-you!

This tour was one of the best experiences of my trip to Korea. I did not expect the workshop to create the traditional mask to be so fun and engaging. At first I thought it would simply be an art activity, but it turned out to be much more interesting than I imagined. The guide explained with passion the meaning of traditional Korean masks, their history, and their role in the local culture. Thanks to these explanations, creating my mask became a way to better understand the traditions of Korea and not just a simple manual craft. The workshop was very well organized and everyone could easily follow every step, even those who had no experience at all. It was really relaxing to use the colors, decorate the mask, and give it a personal touch. In the end, it was wonderful to be able to take home a souvenir made with my own hands, much more special than a normal souvenir. The atmosphere was cheerful, welcoming, and well organized. Time passed quickly because I was having so much fun. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Korea, both to adults and to families with children. It is an original, educational, and truly unforgettable activity. If you are looking for something different from the usual, this workshop is absolutely not to be missed!

By far the best thing that we have done!!! Nicholas was so awesome and so wonderful at explaining everything and very informative about alot of history in mask making.

My son and I booked this Venetian mask making experience because we wanted to do something a little more creative on our trip. This was the perfect thing to do after a long day of traveling. All of the supplies were provided for us, and Nicola, the son of the shop owners helped us with color schemes and design for our masks. Once we finished the base coat of paint, it was mesmerizing to watch Nicola add decorative swirls and embellishments. It was interesting listening to Nicola explain a little bit about the history of Venetian mask making and the process he takes whenever he makes masks for the Venetian Carnival festival. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and now we have a memorable keepsake to remind us of our visit.

The course was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys making things themselves. You get a great insight into the traditional production method and everything is explained in a relaxed manner and without time pressure. I felt very comfortable.

This was a great activity for the kids and they left with a highly personal souvenir to take back home.
