Pomodoro began creating similar sculptures in the early 1960s, exploring the theme of complexity.

The Sistine Chapel is one of the most renowned cultural and artistic landmarks in the world. Built in the late 15th century during the papacy of Pope Sixtus IV, it serves as the official chapel of the Apostolic Palace and the site of papal conclaves, where new popes are elected. Its greatest significance lies in its breathtaking frescoes, particularly the ceiling and The Last Judgment, both painted by Michelangelo in the 16th century. The ceiling, completed between 1508 and 1512, depicts scenes from the Book of Genesis, including the iconic Creation of Adam. The Last Judgment, painted on the altar wall between 1536 and 1541, illustrates the Second Coming of Christ. Beyond its artistic and religious importance, the Sistine Chapel remains a symbol of Renaissance humanism, divine inspiration, and the Catholic Church’s enduring influence in art and culture.
At last, your guide will escort you into St. Peter’s Basilica, bypassing long lines of spectators, to provide an overview of this spectacular church. At the end of the tour, you can remain in St. Peter’s Basilica at your leisure, or you may return outside to St. Peter’s Square to admire Bernini’s clever optical illusion and the basilica’s heavenly façade.
St. Peter's Square, an iconic masterpiece in Rome, embraces visitors with its grandeur. Designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the vast elliptical space is encircled by a majestic colonnade, symbolizing the Church's embrace. The central obelisk and fountains add splendor, while the stunning façade of St. Peter's Basilica stands as a beacon of architectural brilliance, inviting pilgrims and tourists alike to marvel at the heart of Vatican City. The most fantastic way to finish your Vatican tour experience!

A fantastic tour! The bad weather didn’t stop us. It was very informative and good value for money.
For the value, 3 hours was not enough time considering the Basílica was closed. We felt rushed through each room of the museum. We could probably learn more with one of the self guided audio tours. Not worth over $300 for 2 people. The guide was great with the information he did share.
Although it was raining at the start, Christian made light and brought the sunshine out! He did a great job providing historical facts while engaging with our group!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Vatican and Saint Peter’s Basilica! Chiara was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable and friendly. It really felt like she cared about our experience. Her insights were thoughtful and balanced the religious and historical significance perfectly. We would absolutely take another tour with her as a guide.
The overall experience was very good. Ettore was a great and very knowledgeable guide, and we really enjoyed the tour. The only downside was the headsets we were provided, as they weren’t the best and we couldn’t always hear our guide clearly. If we missed the beginning of something he was explaining, it was sometimes difficult to catch up with what he was saying. That being said, the tour itself was great, and we appreciated that the group was definitely 20 people or less, which made the experience feel more personal and enjoyable.
Christian was incredible. The passion and knowledge he hard was incredible. Christian has an exceptional ability to make the most of the situation the way he told the history had you captured.
Amy was exceptional. She was so knowledgeable with each of the sites from the Sistine Chapel, Saint Patrick Basilica, along with the museum. I would recommend her and this exceptional guide to many others.
Our guide was excellent! He had knowledge that never ended!
A well organised and informative tour. Our guide David was very knowledgeable.
Our guide Nicola was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and also made the visit fun with his good humour. I highly recommend his tour with City Wonders.
