Of course this wonderful Vatican tour includes access to the incredible Sistine Chapel. Although it is true there is something to be said for the early morning light in the Sistine Chapel, we believe there is even more to be said about its magical evening glow. Rome is famous for its “golden hour” which is that fleeting, enchanted moment just before dusk when the city seems to turn to Pure Gold. From January 12 through March 31, the Vatican Museums will be carrying out special conservation work on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment inside the Sistine Chapel. During this time, a scaffolding structure will cover the entire Last Judgment wall. The Sistine Chapel will remain open and fully accessible, but this specific artwork will not be visible during the restoration period. Thank you for your understanding as this masterpiece receives important care.

Great tour. Would highly recommend.
As far as I am concerned, the best way to see the Vatican is after most of the crowds have left for the day. That way you're not throwing elbows the entire time. The tour met in a convenient location across the street from the Vatican and it was easy to find our guide, Francesco. We had a small group and the other three people we toured with were lovely. It was nice to have such a small group because we could gather close and actually hear Francesco - though we did all have radios and earpieces so that we could hear if things got noisy. Francesco was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humor. When it started raining in the middle of our tour, he got us inside quickly and I think changed the tour around on the fly to keep us inside and dry. We highly recommend him as a guide. The artwork inside the Vatican is amazing. I kept seeing art that I studied in my art history classes in college. Of course the real gem is the Sistine Chapel and it was absolutely wonderful. We are from the U.S. so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us, and Francesco and LivTours made it amazing.
Deborah was very knowledgeable and I learned so much about the art that I hadn’t know before. I would highly recommend this tour.
Sara made our evening tour of the Vatican Museums and the Vatican an absolutely magical experience. Touring in the evening was incredible—the crowds were smaller, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the beauty of everything around us was even more breathtaking. Sara was exceptionally knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history, art, and significance of everything we saw. She brought each room and masterpiece to life with fascinating stories and details that we never would have appreciated on our own. She also kept the tour well-paced, answered every question thoughtfully, and made sure everyone felt included. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. If you’re considering a Vatican tour, we highly recommend booking the evening experience and, if you’re lucky enough to get Sara as your guide, you’re in for something truly special. Thank you, Sara, for making such an unforgettable evening!
Maria was excellent, very knowledgeable, fun and enthusiastic. Had a great evening tour, starter 5.30pm, ended 7.30pm. Was nice and quiet at that time!
It was very interesting and just amazing to see inside the Vatican museums. Going with a small group was worth the extra cost and you should definitely book ahead of time! Only thing I didn’t care for was I felt the guide was eager to get the tour over with because he talked super fast and kinda rushed us through the exhibits. He also didn’t take a group picture of us which would’ve been nice to see. He was definitely a wealth of knowledge, which was great.
Massimo was excellent!! His sincere love for art and history is evident, and he observes each work with a childlike wonder, as if it were the first time he is contemplating it. His warm personality shone through in the way he greeted and welcomed other guests and tourists, making them feel immediately among friends.
Laura P was fantastic. Very engaging, provided great insight and made the tour so enjoyable. Glad we had a small group of 6, the experience was personable and the guide was excellent at engaging with both parties.
Lucy was a great guide! She was so knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you for a great tour.
We had a wonderful tour of the Vatican with Ribal. He speaks perfect English, is very knowledgeable and explains interesting details. He threw in a little humor once in a while which we appreciated. It was a great 2 hour tour!
