As this is our second time round at the universal studios, it did not give us the 'exciting' experience we'd hope for (this time we took our son). The admission fee I feel is abit over priced, there were only a handful rides for adults and the express pass is only valid one per ride per day and half of the rides on that day was not working. We spent alot of time walking around looking for something that we would 'enjoy' or worth our money. Overall, I think it's overpriced like other theme parks - so prepare to spend abit. All the staff at the gate front will tell you their favorite ride is mario cart but in fact their tactic is to draw everyone down to the bottom - It wasn't working on this day so we don't know!
29Sept.2026: There are pros & cons to this park. Tour: The back-lot tour was interesting, but there were the same displays from over a decade ago mixed in with a few new displays. There was active filming, but you can't see much from the road. The tour trailers squeeze 6 people per row which is too many for the space provided - it should be 5 to be comfortable. I had to lean forward most of the tour. The theme park was highly detailed. We were very impressed with the Harry Potter area. We tried the Butterbeer which is not beer. It taste like overly sweet cream soda, overpriced at $11/ea.! We were surprised at the lack of benches. If you're with older people, they need somewhere to sit down. City Walk has the same issue. Rides: Most have highly detailed visual affects. However the rides had glitches. We were on the Harry Potter ride and it shutdown mid-way for no explanation. Prices: The biggest issue is the price point (value) including parking and entrance. We bought discount tickets however they were still over $100 per person! This is not a big park, but the prices are just under what Disneyland charges which is much bigger. Lunch was $40 for two people. Parking: There are two parking options, general is $40 or preferred for $60 which are ridiculous prices! They are taking advantage since no other options unless you park outside which is metered city parking. Hours of operation: As other's have mentioned the park is only open for 8 hours. If you want to see everything it is not enough time with long wait times. Unless someone is wealthy, I don't think I would recommend USH. Tips: bring a bottle of water and wear sunscreen, shade is limited.
Had a very disappointing visit. I gave them a 2 because I enjoyed meeting some characters and walking through different areas. It was disappointing that most of the rides were not plus size friendly. I prefer going to Disneyland now.
Enjoyed using Viator as a Canadian for the fact I was charged in CAD. Seamless experience and had such a great day!
Better than Disney! Went with my 17 year old and we had the best day!! 8 hours of amazing rides and shows, clean and well organised. Queues were non-existent, but that was also because we came mid-week in early September. General parking is fab and takes you through the City Walk, which is also cool. Highlight were the Minions, Transformers and Harry Potter rides. Don’t miss the Waterworld stunt show and DEFINITELY go on the studio tour! Would definitely go again.
We were worried that it wouldn’t live up to the steep $145 entry fee, but it did. The Fast and Furious was the best coaster we’ve ever experienced. We went on most of the rides, the lines were relatively short for a Friday and we enjoyed all but one of them. They could use more benches in the shade as we got a bit overwhelmed by the heat.
The best part of the visit was the studio tour. The other fun rides were between okay and great. We had the limited fast pass which turned out to be. a waste of money. We visited mid September and the wait lines were pretty short maybe because most visitors came in the PM for the Halloween Specials.
Day spent in this park where there is indeed some good, or even very good! And some not-so-good obviously. The good is the organization as a whole, then the Jurassic Park and Minions rides, and the dive into the behind-the-scenes of the studios with the Star Tour..: the very good with the Harry Potter area and the attraction in the castle which is the best of the best! The not-so-good is having to pay to leave your bag in a locker for certain attractions. So I understand that you sometimes have to leave them for safety reasons or not to lose something.., but paying $5 for that (every time?!?) plus it doesn't accept the credit cards we had (all 3) and in the meantime they froze the attraction where we were supposed to go..: frankly between the price of the entrance ticket and the $40 parking, this is crossing the line! Anyway, apart from that and the food not being exactly incredible and not cheap! The park is nice as a whole!
The park is a must-see once in a lifetime, the settings are very cute, the show is beautiful. The rides are nothing special, all 4D simulators... very high prices for everything... perhaps too much for what is actually offered.
