Thank goodness I purchased the express tickets. The weather was so hot that standing in a long lineup would have been brutal.
Very worth it! We got through a lot of the park and got to enjoy the park since we did not need to worry about lines!
Visiting Universal Studios Hollywood was awesome. We did the studio tour since it's the original headquarters. The highlights were seeing the Jaws attack and the flash flood. I also loved the earthquake and plane crash scenes. Meeting the Transformers was very cool. We finished by buying souvenirs.
If you’re in California skip this. Do lineskip / park hopper at Disneyland instead. Boring rides, 1 good one that was fast and furious, the rest focus heavily on screens. The mummy ride was OOS so it was all boring. Disneyland was amazing. This was a let down
An experience to do for those who love television series or movies (like Harry Potter or Marvel movies), I highly recommend it even if the entrance price leaves something to be desired..! A little over €500 for admission for 2 people..! 😅
Had a great reat time at Universal Studios Hollywood. and great memories visiting my former Navy Battleship - The USS Iowa
First we went on the studio tour, interesting and very professional tour guide (thank you Sammy!). The earthquake experience was clearly out of order which was a shame.. sad. We got to experience the new Fast and Furious ride which was a highlight! Staff were friendly across the board, and low crowds and low queue times really made the day for us - took us 6.5 hours to do every ride we wanted and the low crowding makes such a huge difference! One thing - We arrived and saw signs that the park will be closing early (6pm) for a separate event, but rides started rejecting entry from 4pm despite a very low queue time day (often 10-20 mins), so we observed some angry customers.
As far as cost Vs excitement go, this was a good choice The Harry potter section aloneade this worth a visit.
You need a fast pass to go on everything to avoid queuing. That is very expensive for a family. Some of the rides are impressive in that they are virtual but don’t come here if you want lots of exciting roller coasters.
Because the park is large and we only had 1 day, we wanted to make the most of our visit. Yes, the Express Tickets are very expensive, but under the guise of "the regular tickets are also very expensive and it is a nice end to our holiday" finally decided to do anyway. That was a very good decision! The park opens at 9am, but you'd do well to have parked by 8am. You still have to walk a bit (via Foodcourt, security, ticket-check etc.) and of course you just want to be inside when it opens. The park is very nicely set up anyway. There are different themes (Simpsons, Harry Potter, Revenge of the Mummy, Jurassic World etc.) and within it there are roller coasters, thrills, shops and restaurants. All within that theme. The first 2 hours we were able to do many attractions several times, where there were no queues (maximum 10 minutes waiting time). We didn't use the passes then. From the afternoon we did all the attractions again, only with our Express Passes. This was really super arranged; as a family you are allowed to go straight into the attractions (so not as a single-ride fill). We were able to bypass queues of > 2 hours with this. Rib from the body, but really worth it for us!
