Sumo - an honor

We had the honor of attending a 90 minute Sumo Wrestler Training at the Nakamura-beya Sumo Stable. We arranged it through nexspark (dot) jp who were very helpful answering our questions. We observed stretching, strengthening and collision training. They provided an audio guide in English, gave us presents and photo'd us with the wrestlers. What an amazing experience!

Operator response

Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful review. We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed the sumo training experience at Nakamura-beya and that our service could be of help. We are sincerely grateful for your thoughtful feedback. Should we have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future, we will be more than happy to serve you with the same dedication. And if you could wear the original T-shirt you purchased next time, that would make us even happier! :-D With our warmest thanks, NexSpark

Fantastic

It’s the real thing. Our teenage boys loved it. It was authentic and not a show. They are amazing athletes

The first 20-30 minutes...

The first 20-30 minutes seems uneventful as they warm up but the action is intense and exciting once they get started with three wrestling

Operator response

Thank you so much for your review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the intensity and excitement once the practice got underway. You're absolutely right—the first 20–30 minutes can feel a bit slow, as it's the warm-up phase. This part is actually a very important part of sumo training, where wrestlers prepare their minds and bodies for the intense matches that follow. But we completely understand how it can feel uneventful at first, especially for first-time viewers. We're so happy that it became exciting for you as the action picked up! Thanks again for your honest and thoughtful feedback—it helps future guests know what to expect. We hope to welcome you again someday! Warm regards,

Up Close With Sumo Sparring!

This was a perfect way to start my holiday in Japan! It came with an audio guide and leaflet which helped me understand what was going on in their training and I was literally a meter away from the sumos training/sparring. It was truly inspiring to see the dedication up close. The organizers were super helpful too and very easy to get to, would recommend!
