Itinerary
Discover the beauty of the most iconic square of the city of Rome
The fact that the Virgin aqueduct has never been completely ruined is testified, among other things, by the two-thousand-year-old stratification of buildings in the Trivium area (which was the original name of the area where the Trevi Fountain stands today). At the end of the 1990s, excavation works for renovation and consolidation in a group of buildings near the fountain led to the discovery of a vast and complex archaeological area, now reorganized and open to visitors under the title "The City of Water".
The Trevi Fountain is the largest of the famous fountains in Rome. Built on the façade of Palazzo Poli by Nicola Salvi, the competition held by Pope Clement XII in 1731 was initially won by the French sculptor Lambert-Sigisbert Adam but later the task passed to Salvi: it is said that the change was due to the fact that the pontiff did not want to entrust the work to a foreigner, instead another version explains that Adam had to return to France .

The meeting space was easily found, the private tour guide was knowledgeable, and the underground ruins near the trevi are fascinating. Although the company sent us a ticket to the pantheon that was later than expected, we were able to have a quick bite to eat and the use the tickets for the designated hour. Great tour and loved the individualized attention. Thank you!
Thank you for your winderful review
Donatella was an amazing tour guide. She had so much information about the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps and the surrounding area. She had a lovely personality and was so fun to talk with. I cannot recommend this tour more!
Thank you for your wonderful review.
Simon’s was a wonderful guide. She made our experience enjoyable and educational. We toured the Trevi Fountain, took pictures from a store across the Via, and Simona made sure to take pictures of us in front of the fountain!
Our guide Donatello was very knowledgeable about Roman history with a relaxed and friendly personality. However even with our small group headsets would have been helpful in order to hear clearly while walking through the large crowds.
Excellent tour and wonderful learning opportunity as there was a guide just for the two of us. Only negative was our guide was 10 minutes late and the meeting place was confusing as there was no one there to meet us.
Wonderful experience! Our tour guide was full of knowledge! We would definitely recommend this tour and Donatella!!
Excellent tour and our guide, Simone was wonderful!! She was not only knowledgeable but very accommodating to our family as we were traveling with a 13 month old.
This was an interesting tour and the guide was great!! She added to what I would consider a somewhat lack luster tour otherwise!
Great guide. Very knowledgeable. Recommend every one do this. Lots of great history. Go do this. Yes.
Our tour guide explained the history of trevi how this water run around rome, the spanish step, too bad she was not able to bring us down to the fountain to toss a coin but is included in our tour. We have to go back to experience tossing and making a wish. It is a fun tour still
