Travel back in time to the 1700's on this Self-Guided Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt! Guests will start out with Free Access to the Fireproof Museum and receive instructions on how to "escape" the British occupation of Charleston. After receiving the instruction packet, guests will follow the footsteps of a Patriot Spy trying to escape the city and have to find a multitude of hidden gems including historic structures, secret alleyways, and artifacts. All these sites are directly related to the American Revolution as it would affect Charleston specifically and even find out how certain events would have repercussions for other colonies. This is the ONLY historically accurate scavenger hunt designed by three area historians related to the American Revolution. *As a moderately difficult escape, we recommended for adults only. We do have a child friendly Pirate Escape Scavenger hunt as well. Good luck Patriots as you embark on this historic one of a kind adventure in Charleston.

The Patriot Escape was one of the best things we did in Charleston. We had no idea how involved Charleston and South Carolina were in the American Revolution. The streets and alleyways were beautiful and the museum we started at was really cool as well. We definitely would recommend this as a fun and unique way to learn about Charleston.
This was a great way to see Charleston! I was surprised at the intricacy of this scavenger hunt there was a pick your own route portion that was definitely a unique spin. The American revolution theme was perfect as we visited fort moultrie during our visit as well. The host at the museum I think Mitchell was super kind and showed us around a little. Overall we really enjoyed this, my wife is telling me to remind folks to wear comfortable walking shoes this took us a little under 2 hours. 10/10 great scavenger hunt!
Wow, thanks so much for the wonderful review of our newest Patriot Escape Scavenger Hunt. It is lengthier and more detailed than our Pirate Escape so please wear comfortable clothes/shoes/ bring water. Also while I have the chance for future guests this is not recommended for folks under 15 years of age , the Pirate Escape is the best option for younger guests. My family and I completed the Patriot Escape Charleston scavenger hunt and it was great! Directions were challenging and lots of fun. It took about 2 hours. The tour included tickets to a really beautiful museum. We all learned a lot about the revolutionary war in Charleston and had a great time!
This is a fantastic self-guided tour and is a great alternative to a large group tour. We learned a lot- never knew there was so much Revolutionary history in Charleston! The tour took about two hours so wear comfortable shoes. As a bonus, the tour even included bits of humor, which is hard to do in a self-guided tour. Highly recommend!
The Patriot Hunt was great! So much thought was obviously put into the details. We have 3 kids, ages 16, 13, and 10. It took us a little over 3 hours to complete, largely because we took extra “side quests” of our own to sight see and took a few breaks from the heat. We could have easily completed the hunt in the allotted 2 hours otherwise. This is such a fun way to SEE history. Highly recommend this excursion! Text the provided number with questions about booking or the hunt itself, they were very quick to respond and super helpful!

Fun way to explore Charleston and learn some history! It’s an easy walk around the streets if Charleston, texting selfies and photos and following the instructions to the next clue. Well done.
